Hello cyclist friends, how are you? I hope you are well, on this occasion I want to share a little of what I know about bicycle maintenance, not like always when they have been rides. They brought 3 children's bicycles to my house so that I could make some changes and also repairs, these are 3 bicycles, one with a 16 wheel, and the other two with a 12 wheel, they belong to 2 year old children, I did two of them I changed the tires because the ones they had were expired, and on the other I changed the axles and bearings so that it was smoother. Here I briefly describe that adventure repairing bicycles.

Hola amigos ciclistas como están? Espero que se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir un poco de lo que sé acerca del mantenimiento de bicicletas, no como siempre que han sido paseos. Trajeron a mi casa 3 bicicletas de niños para que les hiciera algunos cambios y también reparaciones, se trata de 3 bicicletas, una de rin 16, y las otras dos de rin 12, pertenecen a niños de 2 años, a dos de ellas les hice cambio de cauchos pues los que tenían estaban vencidos, ya la otra le cambie los ejes y rodamientos para que estuviera más suave, aquí relato brevemente esta aventura reparando bicicletas.

I took the 3 bicycles and disassembled them one by one, especially removing those accessories that were in very bad condition. You can see how the rubber guts were rusted in contact with the wheels, the rubber was somewhat expired, where the cracks were already enormous. and one of the bicycle seats was very damaged. This is without counting some bearings which were already in poor condition with their useful life over. The job was to replace the parts that were most serious and keep the rest in good condition.

Tomé las 3 bicicletas y las fui desarmando una por una, especialmente quitando aquellos accesorios que estaban en muy mal estado, pueden observar como las tripas de goma estaban oxidadas en contacto con las ruedas, los cauchos estaban algunos vencidos, donde ya las grietas eran enormes y uno de los asientos de bicicleta estaba muy deteriorado. Esto sin contar con algunos rodamientos los cuales ya se encontraban en mal estado con la vida útil terminada. El trabajo fue reemplazar las piezas que estaban más graves y mantener el resto en buen estado.

I chose the easiest one to start, in this case the green bicycle with rim 12, this bicycle only needed a little maintenance and changing its tires which, despite their very good appearance, were expired. So I removed their old tires, cleaned the wheels and bearings and little by little I put in each new tire I bought. These bicycles belong to the children of some friends, and they entrusted them to me to repair them, I changed the tires and then I just rode the bicycle, finally I air them with a pump, it is important to know how much air pressure we can apply, depending on the capacity of each rubber.

Escogí la más fácil para comenzar, en este caso la bicicleta de color verde rin 12, esta bicicleta solo necesitaba un poco de mantenimiento y cambiar sus cauchos los cuales a pesar de su apariencia muy buena se encontraban vencidos. Así que quité sus cauchos viejos, limpié los rines y los rodamientos y poco a poco fui colocando cada caucho nuevo que compré. Estas bicicletas pertenecen a los hijos de unos amigos, y me las confiaron para repararlas, cambié los cauchos y luego los monté en la bicicleta, por último les eché airé con una bomba, es importante saber cuanta presión de airé podemos echar, según la capacidad de cada caucho.

Finishing with this I moved on to the pink bicycle, I think it was the most difficult, since the bearings were destroyed, I had to change them, both the axle and the rest of the parts that make up the operation of the bicycle's gear, I did this in both wheels. I took the new axles and before doing so I removed the damaged ones, cleaned that entire area that was dirty and put new grease, put the axles in and reassembled the wheel piece in its entirety.

Terminando con esto pasé a la bicicleta rosada, creo que fue la más difícil, ya que los rodamientos estaban destruidos, tuve que cambiarlos, tanto el eje como el resto de piezas que componen el funcionamiento de la marcha de la bicicleta, esto lo hice en ambas ruedas. Tomé los ejes nuevos y antes de hacerlo retiré los que estaban dañados, limpié toda esa zona que estaba sucia y puse grasa nueva, metí los ejes y volví a armar la pieza de la rueda en su totalidad.

Like the previous bike, after finishing leaving the bearings aligned and ready, I put the corresponding rubber on each wheel and blew air into them. Finally I changed seats, since the other one was destroyed, like a girl, the decoration was pink.

Al igual que la bicicleta anterior, luego de terminar de dejar los rodamientos alineados y listos, en cada rueda puse el caucho correspondiente y les eché aire. Por último hice el cambio de asiento, ya que el otro se encontraba destrozado, comoe ra par auna niña, la decoración era de color rosado.

The last bicycle was the one with wheel number 16, I removed its old rubber casings from this one, they were very rusty and also cracked, in the same way it went through the process of changing all the axles and bearings, that's how they were also fixed the brakes which were not working. Lastly I put on the pedals, which as you can see were severely damaged.

La última bicicleta le era la de rueda número 16, a esta le quité sus antiguas tripas de gomas, estaban con mucho óxifo y también agrietadas, de la misma forma pasó por el proceso de cambiarle todos los ejes y rodamientos, así también se le arreglaron los frenos los cuales estaban sin funcionar. Por último le puse los pedales, que como pueden ver estaban severamente dañados.

This is how all the bicycles turned out, I was very satisfied with the results, the only one that gave me a problem was the pink bicycle and it is because its bearings were very damaged and it was difficult for me to remove them, I think that because of so much rust the pieces were welded together and it was a It was a real ordeal to remove them, the rest of the bicycles gave no problems. Así quedaron todas las bicicletas, quedé muy satisfecho por los resultados, la única que me dio problema fue la bicicleta de color rosa y es porque sus rodamientos estaban muy dañados y me costó sacarlos, creo que de tantop óxido las piezas se soldaron y fue un verdadero calvario quitarlas, el resto de bicicletas no dieron problemas. Así pase mi día de sábado y domingo, ayudando a mis amigos con las bicicletas de sus hijos, pronto le tocará el turno a la bicicleta de mi hija, la cual también le toca un mantenimiento, espero les haya gustado esta breve experiencia, no olviden comentar qué les ha parecido, me despido hasta pronto!
