Why would anyone decide to leave such a beautiful thing behind

This resonated so much. Not that I exchange such a beautiful thing for a hard floor or a tent, but I exchange it to write a PhD, do research, and all of those things. Some mornings it takes more than one cup of coffee to find motivation.
