The reasons for his estrangement

The silence was oppressive, suffocating, I could almost hear the frantic beating of my own heart.

I had come to this place in search of answers, to understand the reasons behind their estrangement. But what I found was something far more sinister.

There, in the gloom, a female figure materialised before me, her features diffuse and shifting as if she were made of dark mist.

Her words echoed in my mind, an ethereal, seductive voice that seemed to come from everywhere at once.

‘She has you, poet. Every night on the carpet of the moon, she has your sweat, your fire, your strength... she has every part of you in the sublime act of surrender and passion.’

A shiver ran down my spine as I realised that it was not a woman before me, but something far more ancient and sinister.

A creature born of the darkest desires of the human soul.

‘Poet, I want to feel you too,’ she whispered, her form beginning to distort grotesquely. ‘I want you to be my real man, my body cries out your name wet to your will in a divine rain of magic and seduction.’

I recoiled, terrified, as the creature crawled towards me, its limbs lengthening unnaturally. Its eyes, two wells of infinite darkness, stared at me with an insatiable hunger.

‘I am tired of dreaming of you, of being your muse only in my imagination and in my thoughts.’

At that moment, I understood that I had awakened something primal and terrifying, something that should not exist in this world.
