Learning from Butterflies

We all know that butterflies undergo a complete metamorphosis, with several physical changes. They start as eggs, then become caterpillars, then pupae, and finally, butterflies.

However, here I will not explain the biology of butterflies, but rather invite you to learn the philosophical meaning of butterfly life.

Who doesn't love butterflies?....

I think almost everyone loves these animals, which always possess beauty in every shape and pattern of their wings. Butterflies also often decorate gardens, making them even more beautiful.

But butterflies are hated, even considered disgusting, when they are still in their caterpillar form. Yes, most people dislike these disgusting, hairy, and dirty creatures that often make our skin itch: caterpillars.

Especially during the transformation from caterpillar to pupa, clinging to tree branches or walls, getting hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and inevitably getting soaked in the rainy season. That is the life cycle of a butterfly.

We as humans can also learn from butterflies. In other words, we must be patient in every aspect of life. People rarely support us on our journey to success, but once we succeed, many people acknowledge us without knowing our journey. Along the way, we are often underestimated, but once we succeed, we receive respect.

Like butterflies, they go through a process where they are hated and even considered disgusting during the caterpillar and chrysalis stages. But after going through all that, from egg, to caterpillar, and chrysalis, they finally become something considered beautiful and cute: a butterfly with flapping wings.
