Competitive Nature of Splinterlands: Climbing Leaderboard with Swift

Hello splinterlands warriors, how are you doing today? Climbing the leaderboard may be worrisome to some people! For me, it is very competitive; I cannot recall the last time I was among 30 in the leaderboard, and I realized that it was just too competitive,
The competitive nature of splinterlands made it more difficult for a big player that is in the 3rd position to drop. From my own experience, there was a certain time I was competing for top 10 in the leaderboard. I discovered that I have good monsters and summoners, and I also rent cards from the market.
At that particular time, I was among the top ten in the gold league; after I lost 3 games in a row, I went back to 30 position; and before the end of the season, I saw myself among the top 50.
That was when I knew splinterlands was a competitive game- a game where the majority of players want to get the rewards at the end of the season.
I realized that rewards are the major reasons certain things are competitive.

What can I do to increase my chance in the Leaderboard
Make sure you participate in sales of packs: well all know that there are various packs, and those packs have different monsters and summoners. For example, a person that bought 500 packs of conclave arcana would have all the monsters and summoners; probably, such a person may level some card to level 7 or 8; why a person that bought 20 packs may not have enough of those cards.
There are players I was paired up with some days ago, and I discovered how heavy those monsters and summoners were, and I was sure that they bought more than 100 conclave arcana packs.

Summoners: there was a time I was using level 3 summoners to play ranked battles; whenever, I was paired up with players that had higher level of summoners, the game became difficult for me. That was how I upgraded my summoners to level 6, and the majority of my monsters were also above level 5. Winning was very easy for me, I began to have more than a 70% winning rate; that was when I realized that upgrading summoners and monsters is very important. At that particular time, I was addicted to splinterlands because I was winning more of my game than ever before.

Be a Strategic: what do I mean? You may encounter players with the same level of monsters and summoners; you may even encounter players that have higher levels of monsters and summoners. One of the best ways to outshine them in battle is to be strategic; if you are very strategic, you will win because you will know the best monsters and summoners to use in a battle: you will even know the best monster in the best position.
I have encountered players with higher levels of monsters and summoners, and I was victorious in some of those battles. More also, I have encountered players with level 1, and I was defeated with my level six monsters and summoners. This was because he was more strategic than me in that particular battle.
If a player is very strategic, he/she will win some battles that are difficult.
There was a battle, I mistakenly placed a ranged monster in the third position of the lineup; if I placed that ranged monster in the 5th or sixth position, I would have won the battle.
The reason I said this is that many of us make such decisions when selecting monsters for battles. I have seen players that used monsters with zero impact in the game, and when a player selected a wrong monster in the wrong position, he/she may be defeated as a result of that mistake.

Consistency: Consistency plays a vital role in success! I have read many great books, and discovered one thing that is common in those great and wealthy men. They were not given up on their dreams.
When trial, failure, and challenges raised, they were not given up. They continue in their dreams.
Hence, to make the most of splinterlands, you need a resilience for consistency.
Even when the man is not a pro, consistency can make such a man pro. I believe if you continue playing splinterlands, you will achieve something either great or small.
