Moments before the turn of a new year, people write things they wish to accomplish - and probably how they will accomplish it. Maybe you are among those that do it. I am. Its actually a nice thing to set out things you want to get done - your resolutions for the year. But then, a lot of things can go right or wrong - such as hurricanes and flooding - that can make it difficult to get your resolutions done.

Did you write a resolution for 2022? The year is coming to an end already. December is around the corner. Its time to start looking at how far you have done. Your progress or lack of it will help you plan your 2023.

Note: If you were not able to do any of your 2022 resolutions, do not despair. Do not feel worthless. If you made your best efforts and things did not work out, please stay strong. After all, being alive and surviving till the end of each year should should be counted an achievement, isn't it?

I did not accomplish much - just one big project

Around the first week of December 2021, I wrote out many things I want to accomplish in 2022. I not only stated my resolutions, I also wrote steps to accomplish them. Like I mentioned earlier, life is always unpredictable and a lot can go wrong in 1 day - not to talk of 1 year. I worked hard to accomplish the things in my resolution. I was able to do some small ones, but there were 3 major things in the resolution.

I planned to fence a property, Drill water borehole and set up an IT facility for my business. These 3 projects are capital intensive, especially the last one. I knew it will not be easy to get all done, while also factoring in smaller projects and daily expenses. But then, 2022 has come and almost gone. Here we are in November. How time flies. Well, of the 3 projects, I went for the one with the largest budget - setting up an IT center for mentorships. I wish to announce that I have accomplished that already. Just finished it few weeks ago.

It was not easy to do it. Extensive planning and being disciplined financially helped me a lot. The IT center will be a place to offer internship and practical computer classes to those that will come for it. Right now, the facility has 20 high-configuration desktop computers. The facility also have a power generating set to back up, just in case there is blackout during classes. I have shared an image of the facility below. You can read more about it in this post.

Before I invite you to share with me how your own resolution for 2022 has gone, here are 2 things that helped me accomplish the resolution.

2 tips to help with your 2023 resolutions

Many people that have successfully executed their resolutions for the year will tell you what helped them. Personally, the two things I am going to share below have been instrumental in my achieving a big resolution project.

  • Start Early: I started working towards my resolutions from the beginning - January 1. It required a lot of hard work, financial planning, and strategies to achieve what I achieved in 2022. I made each day count. Small steps taken daily culminated in the execution of this project. I consciously focused on the big resolution project because once successful, it would be instrumental in the achieving the other two - and so far it has.

So I suggest you start early. Do not complain that business has not settled, or that people are still in merry mood - after all, its the start of the year. If you are able to begin from the first few days of January, you will have time to do all that needed to be done. If there are unforeseen challenges along the way, starting early will give you time to adjust and continue with your plans.

  • Do not Procrastinate: Procrastination is one of the biggest challenges to achieving your resolutions - and life goals in general. Fight that laziness, that desire to want to relax and out it off. If you have set out small tasks that you will do each day, try as much as possible to stick to your schedule. Be disciplined and deprive yourself of some comforts you are used to. For example, stick to your time of waking each day and do not sleep on as the rest do. Being able to stick to what needs to be done, and getting them done is a big plus to your achieving your resolutions.

Alright its, time to share with us how your resolution for 2022 has gone.

Making new resolutions every year is what every human being should do. We ain't getting younger, at the same time, we need t achieve greater things as life goes on. Thank you for your points and suggestions. Will try applying them by the beginning of the next year.

@misterfab. Resolutions give us something to work on, something to aim at. When we accomplish anyone of them, we feel happy. Of course, it would be great to do more each year.

Did you make or accomplish any resolutions this 2022? Or is there anything special you did in 2022. Share with us.

Jehovah's blessing makes one rich. Accomplishing a goal require setting a goal and follow it. As you said, procrastination is bad.

@ijelady. Sure He blesses efforts. So we will work harder and try to achieve more next year

As for me , i am in my 2023 resolution already. 2022 is over. I have planned my goals toward 2023.

Thank you very much my director, for the reviewing 2022 resolutions, it's a nice post, and also it is a guide lines how to achieved your goals for the year. And also procrastinating, it's dangerous. Keep it up

@chuksammy. Procrastination is really dangerous and it does not allow you to reach your full potential. What needs to be done must be done as quickly as possible

Making resolutions and accomplishing them ain't easy oooo, all one needs is the determination to do it
About starting early, it is said that we should make hay while the sun shine because a stitch in time saves nine

@pearlie123. You already have two wise sayings in one comment and they all made sense. We need to be determined in order to achieve our goals. A lot of work is needed. Did you make any 2022 resolution?

I made lots of resolutions oooooo, but if one should ask me if I've gone far with any

I'll proudly say no🤣, no be my fault sha

Hahahaha. At least you are alive. So there is a second chance for you in 2023. Try. Please dont be proud to tell me you did not achieve anything in 2023

🤣
By 2023, I'll proudly say I achieved something and not the other way round

You really achieved something then
It's always easy to calm down and draft plans but the problem is always with the execution
I pray God helps us all to have a fruitful 2023

Sometimes we'll planning towards one direction, then boom, life will come and scatter the directions Making it more difficult than we had imagined but at the end, we'll always be grateful for life because with life, everything can be accomplished. Personally I can turn back and be glad of accomplishing two things out of few that I had in mind to do in 2022, I believe 2023 will be better.

Perfect writeup
You see procrastination is a very bad disease that will help you bury your goals and resolutions in life, but when you believe that each minutes of your life counts you will prevail no matter the challenges you face.
To be honest with you you really made something this year and am certain that the IT project is a stepping stone to all other of your resolutions.
Let me go and pend down my resolution for next year.
