The Cost of Overthinking

Overthinking is one of those things which almost everyone goes through, yet hardly anyone knows how much harm it really causes. It starts off small: just thinking a little more or trying to be a little more cautious. But slowly, it becomes some kind of trap that confines us within ourselves rather than letting us enjoy our lives to the fullest.
One of the major effect of overthinking is losing chances. The world will not stop for anyone to think. The same thing with opportunities, they come quietly and leave without noise. In the moment when we overthink, compare options, or are anxious about what might go wrong, we usually make decisions too late. And once we finally act, the chance is already gone.
Overthinking also leads to a lot of mental stress. It drains your energy more than when you engage in physical work. Your mind keeps running like a clockwork, going around the matter and replaying old conversation you have had with people, giving you imagination of problems that never happened, and at the same time trying to predict every possible outcome. By the end of the day, you feel exhausted and drained, because of overthinking.
Another cost of overthinking is loss of confidence. The more you think the less you are unsure of yourself. You doubt your choices, your abilities, and lost the confidence about your self worth. Overthinking turns small worries into great fears, turning simple decision into a difficult and confusing moment. Instead of giving you clarity and confidence about the cause of action it takes it away.
I have had moments of overthinking in my life which cost me opportunities. There were moments when I wanted to do something impactful, but I kept overthinking it to the point that I lost the opportunities that could have changed my life. The remorse of not doing what I should have done was heavier than the fear that I felt during the thinking process.
The good news is, overthinking can be managed. You do not have to get perfect answers before you make any move. You do not have to know everything first before you make a start. Sometimes, just make a small step forward. Action creates clarity.
In the end, overthinking is just too expensive. It costs time, energy, confidence, and opportunities. And life definitely gets better the moment we cease to let fear guide us and start believing in ourselves a bit more.

You could add what you think is missing as a comment, after all, the article is not an end to the subject of overthinking. There are plenty much other effects of overthinking.
I don't think that's going to change anything.
The article itself is good, it's just some, let's call it credentials, that are missing IMO
