Since the evolution of social media into our internet space, it has taken the world by storm and has been adopted by all, becoming a part of our world and daily life. It has not only eased communication but also serves as a space to connect, build relationships, and help our business gain a wider audience. Despite how amazing social media has been, not everyone appreciates its impact; in fact, some people think it destroys, even though it's built some things. What is my opinion about it? Does it build or destroy? Below I'll talk extensively about my take on this.
I'd like to start by saying that regardless of what people's opinion is about social media, I agree with them and can understand their point of view because I've seen both sides of what social media is, so even though I might have a different opinion, I must say that I understand the other side's opinion and why they think so, and that's probably why I'll be concluding this article with a statement that encourages looking for a middle ground so we won't, due to the good side, overlook the bad, or because of the bad side, rid ourselves of the opportunities that lie within using social media.
For those who said social media is mostly destructive, I understand their perspective, and I totally agree with them and where they're coming from, because when you take a look at social media, you will see the tons of damage it does, from cyberbullying to security theft, not to even forget the various abuses that go on in the space, even the various content that isn't supposed to be seen by your people, and yet they're exposed to it, and it goes on to influence them negatively. All of these and many more are enough to make one think social media is destructive and not want to have anything to do with it.
Personally, I think social media is a blessing, and it builds, and even though it has its downside, it doesn't mean it's entirely bad or has no good impact, and that's why I see it as a great input that's worth using for as long as possible. Social media builds because it helps build relationships and friendships, because it connects you with the outside world, and because it puts your business on the bigger stage and world map, making it more recognized and the like. It also serves as an avenue to earn, create job opportunities, and several other things, to name but a few. All these blessings and goodies are the reason behind my stance.
So in conclusion, I believe that even though both parties have reasons for their opinion, I must say that we must all find a middle ground to meet and not become victims of the bad side of social media due to our love for it or miss the opportunities it holds due to our hate for it. So that's about it on my opinion, and I hope everyone understands my opinion.
