I Want to be A Santa For One day

‎Hello everyone, I trust that you are doing very well and that your day went well too.

‎One day Santa will make me very happy, as I will just reach out to the street children of Agbani in Enugu State.

‎Agbani is a town in Enugu State; it is where I serve during my one-year service in Nigeria.

‎My heart goes out to those children, as they do not have what to eat even when they have parents. Poverty has really made life unbearable for them. They barely eat, and they also do not feel the excitement of going to school.

‎There are times that they would have to hawk to earn some money for their parents. Life is not actually easy for them. I remember that I used to organise free lessons, and during classes they would always tell me how they are just there in the lesson because of me, not because they want to learn. They always tell me that they actually appreciate my kind efforts, but they were not interested in education. All of them wanted to just live like that and just continue stealing from people.

‎If I have the opportunity of being a Santa, I will just dress there, not letting them know that it is me. I'll gift a lot of things and maybe organise a very big party for them.

‎At first I won't let them know that it is me; I'll make sure that I gift them a lot of things, maybe books, foods, toys, etc.

‎Living with these children has actually made me have a reason to appreciate the kind of life I have. At least I have food, I have water, I have a beautiful family and I have a roof up above me. There are people who need a beautiful family, there are ones who just need people who would encourage them and tell them that everything will be fine, and there are those ones who just need education or money.

‎It is very important we know what we need to do in order to help the people around us. If people are helped – I mean everyone – then this world will be a better place, there will be no need for stealing, and there will be no need for people to be bad. Everybody will just be fine and happy. Let's try to do one thing or the other to make others happy no matter how small the thing is; this life should not just be for you and you alone.

‎Oh, Children of Agbani, how I love and celebrate you. I may not be there with you guys anymore, but there is a very big place in my heart for you people. I love you people like no man's business, and I believe that one day when we see each other again, I will be very proud of you guys. It may not actually look like it, but I believe that everything will be fine. Stay safe, my children. I LOVE YOU.

You are kind for thinking about those street kids. For them to say they are not interested in the education you are providing them but just there because of you shows how much you mean to them.

Thank you you for your kind words

You are doing really well

You have a big heart my dear. I'm sure the children of Agbani would love all that you've said you would do for them if you were Santa for a day. The world needs more people like you. Thanks for sharing
