Within the scrolls, likes and hullabaloos...

Social media is nothing but a double-edged sword. Good and bad, makes and mars, shares and compares life all depending on its various corners one chooses to venture into.

Diving into the world of social media can be likened to an adventure. With the fascinating discoveries equally comes the rough patches as you tread on and you can only but maintain a steady stride; embrace the beauties and grasp as many lessons as you can from the not-so-funny experiences.
Or simply give into the ordeals and let it define your odyssey.

In the vast, alluring space of social media especially in this century, there seem to be a lot more good than bad. Scratch that... The bad has outweighed the good in all aspects ranging from interaction, entertainment, information...

It's quite safe to say that they have all been infiltrated and contaminated and in the same vein, there are over thousands of users within various age brackets who are tapping, scrolling, liking through reels all day long. People have literally made their beds in social media.

Personally, I've had my own taste of social media's perks and cons ever since I stepped into its world and I can be proud to say that I still walk around with the beauties I tapped from it.

Within its darkness and destruction, the clicks and scrolls, I found kindred souls, knowledge, lifetime lessons, growth, motivations and of course, pleasure, tugging at different dimensions of my life.

As a student, I can't count the number of times I've gone running to explicit tutorials and online classes for much detailed explanations when the words of the teacher in class made the topic sound more complex and confusing than comprehensible.

Each of these sessions often ends with me feeling like I digested all topics in a textbook effortlessly, just like I would recite the alphabet. Mostly the live tutorials where I get to chip in my questions and receive immediate responses.

And spiritually, social media was literally the force that pulled me back into the safe, loving arms of my creator. Some time ago, my spiritual life and I were worlds apart and probably further than that.

But then, the more I scrolled through feeds and spiritual texts, videos and gospel lyrics kept popping up every now and then, I felt my inner self awaken and before I knew it, I would grab my Bible and worship heartily before anything slips past my tongue.

Did I mention psychologically?... Over the years, social media has successfully changed my views and perspectives and reshaped my mindset on certain things and people. A peek or two into the way of things and lives of specific category of people and now, I can say I understand more and criticise less.

So despite the more popular reputation which is obvious to all and its effects, present in the lives of many, social media also has a sweet touch to it. Which did shape me.
