The saddest day of my life 😢

On the 25th of March 2021, it was just a regular day, I was out with my friends, and at 5:00 pm, a call came in, it was my Dad calling me and I answered. All he said to me was “Meet us at the tamale teaching hospital” I tried finding out what was going on but he hung up. All of a sudden thoughts started running in my head and my heart started racing. This was because when I was leaving home everyone was in good health and shape so getting a call from my dad made me confused.

So I rushed to the hospital with a friend and found my Brother lying in the Emergency ward in a pool of his blood, I asked what happened and they told me that he and his friend was involved in a car accident. The lucky part was that his friend wasn’t hurt and was fine but my brother on the other hand was fighting for his life in the Emergency. We weren’t allowed in there so we waited for about an hour outside waiting for an answer from the doctor. He finally came out and told us that my brother had a fracture in his leg and aside from that he is fine.

At 8:30 am, he became unconscious and was rushed into the ICU, we got more worried and waited for about 3 hours. The doctor came out with the news that my brother had internal bleeding and they had to act quickly and operate on him.

Well, the operation had to do with money and fortunately for our part, we have accounts where the workers in the family save monthly for cases like this. So my dad quickly went to the bank and withdrew the amount needed for the surgery.

The surgery went smoothly, we spent about a month in the hospital and were finally discharged. Though he still limps from his fractured leg I’m glad he is doing good now.

It is the saddest day because I’ve never had a family member involved in an accident and had to fight for his life. But I’m glad he pulled through and everything is going on smoothly
