It's quite a time since I visited this awesome community.
I was glad this evening when I saw the prompt topics, I find this particular prompt very relatable because I have really had issues with communicating effectively..
What is communication?
Communication can be defined as the process of imparting or exchanging ( Sending and receiving) of information, this can be through speaking, writing, or using some other medium.
There can be communication through just facials or just body movements, it can be through sign language, it can be through videos and many other media.
Communications in this context is speaking or verbal communications between people.
Now this particular type or mode of communication, there is a chain of operations, starting from the sender of the information, and then the recipient of the information, after the receiver receives the message or information, then there is feedback too.
I am an Educationist, meaning I am supposed to teach people of different sizes, age and sex.
Before I got an official teaching job, I was teaching people in the Café, I had a lot of complications with communicating, I believe then I was very naive, shy and my confidence wasn't amount to anything, so I couldn't really do much on this.
But there was a turning point, I started practicing more, and then I started getting better with my communication skill.
Nowadays people don't really communicate effectively, and communication is very important in carrying out a lot of activity, whether you are in School, church, mosque, the bank or at work. You will definitely need to effectively speak with people.
But what exactly is Effective communication?*
Effective communication can be defined as the process of transmitting and receiving accurate messages.
There are three components of effective communication which is:
- Listening
Listening is one of the most important component of effective communication.
When we talk about Effective listening, we are not just hearing what the other person has to say, it is more than just understanding the words of the speaker.
Effective Listening is simply understanding the meaning and importance behind those words said by the other person and what the speaker feels.
Effective listening also is the ability to know the complete message by understanding the purpose and context of the message.
Stress and Anxiety free
To be a good communicator, you should be able to manage and remove stress or anxiety from the mind of the sender. Keep it calm.
Don't use Confrontational tones and
try to avoid aggressive word selection.
using such can turn to arguments and you should try to avoid it.Be Emotionally Aware
Always Make sure you Analyze yourself to determine how you are making your decisions, whenever you are communicating with someone. By Analyzing your own decision-making process, this will help you know and understand exactly why you want to make specific points during the communication process.
In conclusion:
Make sure you are listening actively,manage the stress or anxiety during communication and be emotionally aware for effective communication with people.

Anyway I agree with the listening. Most people are really bad listeners, myself inclusive. I mean I try but then but then…hehe.
It’s very important to be a good listener if one wants to ensure effective communication.
Yes, Being a good listener goes a long way, especially in Relationship.

Love this post! Communication is the backbone of any relationship . This is a great reminder of the importance of clear and concise communication in achieving our goals
