Own up to your fault and stop pointing fingers.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. The blame game is one game we all must have played at some point in our lives, especially as kids, so we can actually escape the consequences of the crime committed. Trust me, the blame game saves you from the consequences of your crime while another innocent person goes in for it, and then you have your conscience to battle with and constantly reminding you how you made another person suffer for your crime. The blame game is no fun at all; you just keep roping the innocent into something they know nothing about and making a matter that should have been settled easily take a very long time.

Growing up as kids, we always passed the blame to our little sister. She had to carry the blame for every wrong thing we did, like accidentally pouring powder on the ground or even breaking a cup or jug. Since she was still little, it was easy for her to get away with things like that while we wouldn't even get the chance to explain and our African parents were already on our necks. Sometimes it crosses my mind and I feel bad for our actions back in the day, and sometimes I want to tell her how much she had to carry even as a little girl. If only she knew, she would have tagged herself a superhero because she saved us from getting beaten countless times.

She continued to save us until one time she traveled with mom and my younger brother broke a cup; instead of owning up to doing it, he denied it, thereby putting all of us in trouble, and this time around with our dad, not even mom. He kept pointing fingers and trying to clear his name while roping the rest of us into the pit. It was on that day I realized the blame game is fun and you feel good when someone else is going down instead of you until you are the one going down for something you did not do.

One thing about the blame game is making mountains out of mere hills; an issue that would have been solved without the next-door neighbor knowing about becomes the talk of the town. An issue that would not have taken more than 30 minutes to get solved would now have to take a day, a week, or even months to solve. The blame game is stressful and draining for both parties; the one getting blamed can even suffer emotional damages afterwards. Both kids and adults need to start owning up to their fault. It saves a lot of time and energy, especially as adults. I see no reason why an adult will lie or try to play the blame game. You are an adult for God's sake; nobody is going to beat or flog you. After all, you were conscious while doing whatever you did. Why not own up to your fault and try to fix it if it's fixable instead of making matters long?

We must all also learn to forgive and let go since we are all humans and no one is perfect. Every once in a while, one ought to make mistakes, making mistakes only becomes a problem when you make it a habit. Some people are forced to play the blame game because of the consequences that come with the mistake they must have made, but if they know they will be forgiven, then they won't bother playing the blame game.

Yeah true. I know an issue currently in court just because one person blamed the other. I believe it wouldn’t have gotten that far if the person just owned up to what he did.

Blame game only make matters worse. Thanks for stopping by Eve.

Your sister is indeed a superhero.
Blame game is triggered by our upbringing though.
I guess if our parents used another means, it won't be that way.

In all blame game is not good.

Nicely written dear.

She doesn't even know lol 😂. Thanks for stopping by.
