Everyday struggle.

Many people get up early every day and go out onto the streets in different areas of the world, not in search of riches but only to make sure their families are fed. Their pay is sometimes just enough to get by, their days are long, and their labour is hard. This ongoing fight is particularly common in many African nations, where people live in constant struggle—not for wealth, but just to survive.

I just got the chance to take some moving pictures that depict this reality. Particularly women are frequently observed diligently working from dawn to night in order to support their families and maintain a basic standard of living for themselves.

These pictures portray an emotional journey of selflessness. This story is not the same anywhere in the world. Opportunities abound, and if challenges still exist, they are distinct from one another. However, providing for the basics in some regions of Africa—clothing, food, and shelter—is the daily struggle.

But even in the middle of these difficulties, there's a chance for change. Even for those with limited formal education or digital literacy, the introduction of digital technology offers an opportunity to enhance life. Digital revolution holds promise for enabling these people by providing them with new avenues for earning, learning, and social interaction.

Imagine a society in which these diligent men and women might use technology to improve their own and their families' quality of life. They might discover new markets, pick up new talents, and come up with more effective methods to help their loved ones if they had the necessary resources and training. By giving them the tools to change their situation and ensure a brighter future, digital literacy may hold the key to ending the cycle of poverty.

A society where hard work is about flourishing rather than merely surviving, and where digital revolution closes the achievement gap, is a vision worth aiming for. Let's keep looking for methods to give these chances to those who most need them.
