My experience
I had a sore throat one day, at first I thought it was a joke but when it persisted, I decided to make warm water. Oh, I didn't tell you that I paid my mentor Helen Sammy princess a visit. I had visited her earlier that day and I immediately told her I needed warm water. She then asked one of the students in the hostel to prepare it for me. The pampering she gave me was just too much. The water was already hot before the lady got back to the kitchen. I had to pour it into a container so I could drink it at my convenience and keep the remaining. (I love warm water a lot.) Someone said I sound weird. (Don't mind me, I prefer warm water to a cold one, yet I still have a sore throat frequently.) What now happened, I'm curious? Precious asked. Relax, I will tell you everything.
One of the ladies suggested that I should pour the water in a plastic container (the one we call ragolis) placed on the table and I obliged. I had just poured a little portion of the water when the plastic bottle squeezed up. Then the other lady had to borrow me her flask (Stainless steel) to contain the hot water. I poured it in the flask, bade them goodnight and was about to enter my room when the holy spirit ministered unto me. He began to teach me some lessons from the plastic bottle and the flask. Grab your popcorn and let's unveil these lessons together.
PURPOSE
A lot of people want to contain some levels of grace, dimensions, successes, but they were not created for that purpose. The plastic bottle and the flask were both created to contain liquid substances, but while the former was meant for cold, chilled substances, the latter was created for hot or warm substances. While some are destined to be a teacher impacting knowledge of the word of God into people, you may be destined to be a doctor administering medical care to people and saving souls for Jesus. The truth is that, you are both proclaiming Jesus but in diverse ways. Ensure that you're fulfilling the purpose you were created for!
STAMINA/ CAPACITY
Before you admire the results or success of another person, take your time to think about the sacrifices. Ask yourself, Do I have the stamina and capacity to get and sustain this RESULTS. The number of years that will take a teacher to acquire knowledge is different from that of a doctor. The process of their making is different. You can imagine the processes a flask passed through before it got that strength or stamina. The process of making a plastic bottle is easier than that of a flask. No wonder the flask didn't squeeze. Why? Because it has sustained the stamina or capacity to contain hot liquids substances. GOD in his mercy will not put some resources in your custody now, not because he is cruel but because he did not want it to RUIN you. The plastic bottle wanted to contain hot water but because it did not have the stamina, the hot water eventually led to its destruction.
It could not sit properly again. Before you desire other people’s results, successes or achievements, ask yourself, "can i drink from the cup they drank from?" Can I drink from the cup of suffering they drank from? Can I sacrifice what they sacrificed? Can I suffer what they suffered? Can I pay the price they paid? Bishop David Oyedepo once said "Nothing of value is free, everything of value comes with a price. I pray that the LORD helps us to pay the price of the results or success that we admire or desire and may we not move out of God's purpose for our lives in Jesus' name. They all chorused Amen. So, this is the end of my story. I hope you have learnt something tonight? Yes! They all said happily. What an insight! Deborah exclaimed. I will tell you another story tomorrow, don't come late ooo. Yes, mama. To you my phenomenal readers, what lesson did you learn from the story? Kindly share on comments.
