I had on this unexcited look in this pic before I witness a drama that gave me a good laugh in the end. Stay with me for a lesson learnt from today's episode....

Drama. Yes. drama, is what each day is all about and I for one love the one that comes with commercial transportation. The gossip, the pettiness, the unexpected-short-term-friendship, the list goes on and on. For the sake of those wondering what “tro tro” is, it is a local term for commercial transportation and the most common ones are vans.

Now back to the story, it gets pretty busy especially on weekday mornings where everyone is going somewhere. The struggle to make it to destinations sometimes takes away the gentility from most people.

It will amaze you how beautiful women and cool-looking-fine-gentlemen become the opposite of gentle for a seat in “tro tro”. The men will use their strength to push the women aside and the women will also use every means necessary to fight for spots.

Funny story, I saw one fine looking gentleman and I thought to myself; “he looks the same way he carried himself; reserved, cool and gentle. Right then one van stopped and this guy moved with a lightning-bolt-speed pushing everyone aside; old, young, man, woman, he nearly fell flat. Unfortunately for him he did not even get a space. The admiration just disappeared.
I went to work the next day only to find out he was a new hire and I can only remember him by his tro tro moments.

What prompted my write up is the fight I witnessed today. This time there were empty seats available in the van but two muscled men were fighting over the front seat next to the driver. They ended up in a brawl and rolled on the ground it was funny and embarrassing at the same time, it felt like watching street fight off-screen. One of them broke his phone's screen in the moment.

It would have been inhumane of me to take pictures of the scene and most importantly, I was scared. I dreaded someone breaking my jaw in the process.

My colleague and I stood at a safe distance and laughed because, it did not make sense at all.

The point I’m trying to make from the fight I witness today is that, not everything is worth fighting for.
Although it was only a phone’s screen that broke, what if it was some fatal?

Choosing the side of peace when emotions are high does not make one less of themselves, it shows a sign of maturity and strength. This was an episode from my “tro tro” diaries.
