Not parkrun 20200328

I just finished a 5.044km running that lasted about 0hh:26mm:52ss !

In the absence of organised parkrun I have worked out my own 5km course that I will try to run every week to monitor my progress. I did it last week and may have over-done it as my legs were aching all week. I felt up to trying it again today and went a bit quicker. The course involves a lot of climbing and even has some jumps over a small fence and some obstacles to deter cycling on some paths. The long, straight downhill at the end means I can finish fairly fast.

I have about a 1km jog to the start line to warm up. I tried to not set off too quickly and so was able maintain a more consistent pace this time. I will aim to do a long run tomorrow and some intervals sessions during the week.

Due to the coronavirus lockdown there are not many people out and about, but I saw a few runners and some dog walkers. I also saw a squirrel. I was listening to some podcasts that included The Now Show. Even they are affected as they usually record in front of an audience, but are not all doing it from home.

As long as I do not get sick I will try to keep running and possibly come out of this a bit fitter.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 111 running activities, and 23 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 23 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 118.82 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:19 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.326min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

I can not remember the last time I run as long as 20 minute

Funnily enough I can't remember when I last ran less than that :) It just becomes a habit when you do it all the time.

You must be a good runner then while i a bad runner

That makes sense that they would have to suspend stuff like this during these times. I am glad you were able to get out and exercise anyway. We have rain all day today, and tomorrow so it seems like a good time to give my body a break.

It's got a bit cooler and quite windy here, but still okay for running. We need to get out when we can, but I appreciate some people are properly in lockdown. I got to the supermarket today where we had to queue (2m apart) to get in and then try to stay apart inside. Some things are still out of stock, but I got most of what I wanted.

That is good to hear. It is pretty much impossible to get TP over here and eggs you have to be at the store right after they stock them. You probably don't have that problem so much :) My friend has chickens, but I know fresh eggs don't hard boil that well and that is the way my wife prefers them. It was almost balmy when we woke up here today. Already got our walk in.

I was able to get more eggs yesterday. We do not always get enough from our chickens. I did not run today as I think I need to rest my legs a bit.

I've been pretty good on my exercise bike recently and have been using it 5 times a week. I'd like to run with the dog in the morning but she really doesn't seem to like it, she's even slower than me! Plus it's always a worry when she stops every 30 seconds to sniff something nasty!

Great effort, so the pain last week and the intervals are paying off!

I went out this a.m. basically at the same time as the Park Run! There were LOTS of runners out - I think I saw about a dozen out and about.

Didn't do any intervals this week, but I did do some cycling. That works different muscles. People were keeping their distance. I wonder if they will keep doing that when things get more normal again. Habits will form.

I can't see how we not going to have at least some form of social distancing for a while....

I'm wondering how we're going to come out of lockdown: surely as soon as the pubs etc. are open they're going to get rammed, how are we going to manage that>?

A-Ns and M-Zs on alternating days by surname?

Lord knows!

Where I live in Nigeria people are not even allowed to go out as anybody find outside will be punished by the millitary

That's tough.

I see your account is on some blacklist. You may want to consider starting a new one and maybe try to avoid behaviour that gets you on such lists.
