@steevc just finished a 7.0km run, that lasted for 46 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 550.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I am trying to start the year well by getting back into running after my recent back troubles. That has not completely gone, but I need to build back some strength. I do a few exercises and will do more stretching.

It was colder (-2C) this morning than Sunday, but with no slushy snow this time, just lots of frost. It did not feel too slippery, but I was cautious. I did another lap of Fairfield, but anti-clockwise this time. I only saw one or two other runners, but then it was quite early. No squirrels, but quite a few birds.

I would hope to improve my pace over the next couple of months, but I am still feeling my way. My legs were a bit wobbly at the start, but that could just be the cold and I was in shorts. The new shoes are fine though.

It would be good to recruit a few runners to Hive this year. With @strava2hive they could just update Strava as usual and automatically create a Hive post with the potential to earn something. With the way the price is going lately I may buy my next running shoes with cryptocurrency. People can give me a shout if they are interested.

Run free and stay warm.

It's tough to get back into the habit. I had that stretch there where I had Covid, then I hurt my arm and then my back and it's been a bit of a bear getting back into the routine.

Injuries are annoying and I seem to take a while to recover. Will try to avoid them this year.

Good luck with that. It definitely takes longer the older you get!

I've just been contemplating joining a gym to get better general fitness. I could jog over there in the morning.

I think it would be cool to work with a personal trainer, but I don't have the self confidence to go to a proper gym.

I think lots of regular people go, so it won't just be the big muscley guys.

Conditions were not too good for running, as one slip can damage your back more.
But you are a brave guy, and I know that you will take care.

!BEER

It was not too slippery and I am careful. I just needed to get out and do something.

Yep, I know that feeling. !LOL

I invented a new word today.

You are doing great, your body and mind would thank you for this. At least running would help you sweat and release some stress.

Well done sir 👍

Great perseverance, Steve. Walking 7 kilometers is not easy, so I try to walk a few kilometers a day. It's not always the best weather to walk outside, so I walk in the gym instead. But running in the winter with the cold hitting you in the face must be a different kind of pleasure.

It's my regular route, but I've lost some fitness lately. I do wonder about joining the local gym that is in walking distance.

It might be a good idea to go to the gym, man, you could do weights. And it's close to your house, I think you should consider it

Great to see the consistency continue into the new year. Happy New year Steev

Isn't a bit hard trying a run in the cold?

It's not so bad. I don't have a treadmill or a gym membership, so it's my only option.

Its good though

Good job, I couldn’t do it with the cold

I don't mind the cold too much as I can just add layers. Still have to breathe in that cold air though.

My son went to Montana during the holidays. He could handle the cold there quite well. But the humidity is far less than here. The first day he had nose bleeds. It didn’t know that made such a difference

Other places get a lot colder than here and then you have to take extra care. I'm okay around freezing.

That’s great to hear. I’m a Mediterranean climate girl. I can’t stand the cold and rain 😂

Pleased things are beginning to get back to normal for you. I don't run, but I'm looking foward to getting back to my hill walks.

Se ve la constancia , usted no lo detiene ni el clima frío , de igual manera sale a su carrera ..
