Just as expected (and just as the last winter), nobody uses "my" outdoor gym these days so there is nobody to impress with heavy weights and grunting :D But I hate it and never do that anyway. The only time when I put a lot of weights on the machines to the point where I really struggle is when I´m testing my maxes but there is no other way to do that :) Still, however, never grunt, shout or slam the weights. I find these noisy guys really annoying...

There have been studies done that show that the grunting and shouting actually DOES help with heavy lifts but the increase in capability is so miniscule to the point of irrelevance. The true beefcakes that I know instead have mouthpieces and chomp down for that extra push. Whether or not this actually does anything I have no idea, but it is a lot quieter, that is for sure.
