Description from Strava:
First the boring admin stuff... I didn't run at the weekend due to picking up another cold/flu bug... sore throat appeared on Thursday PM, I became increasingly snotty on Friday, and then Saturday and Sunday I was slumped on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Today was still snotty, but on the whole I'm feeling much better

And now, the important news... we have snow!

I flippin' love snow by the way, and I love going out and walking/running in it, especially when it is white and fresh and soft underfoot

It started snowing late last night, and we woke up to 1-2 inches outside this morning.

The roads had already started to clear with the traffic overnight/early morning, but I was still able to enjoy walking into work this morning

The other thing I appreciate about winter weather are the days when it is cold and clear. The skies are blue, the sun is bright, and the air is cold and crisp.

It was a little slippery underfoot, but on the whole it was a lovely walk into work, and a great way to start my day. I made decent time as well, and the didn't take any longer than it usually would. A stark contrast to everyone else who had to drive in (slow traffic) or used public transport (lots of delays).

My day in the office went quickly, and it was nice to start getting more work to do after the quieter xmas period. I ended up finishing a little late too, but only 'cause I wanted to get stuff sorted so we could get a head start for tomorrow morning, and to be fair it was only 15 minutes late.

I quickly got changed, and it was time head out and run back home. I did just about manage to glimpse the end of a pretty cool sunset:

The run home was easy, and I deliberately took it at an easier pace, due to the conditions underfoot. The main paths in town were not too bad, as the footfall from the hustle and bustle of town had cleared most of the snow away, but as I moved further from the town center, the paths became quieter and slippier.

There was still plenty of grip for walking, but I suspect it will freeze overnight, and there will be trickier conditions tomorrow morning. And then by tomorrow evening there is a chance of rain, so most of the snow/ice will wash away... but it was fun while it lasted!
