Description from Strava: Check out that sunrise!!
I didn't actually go for a run first thing this morning due to tiredness, but I opened the curtains in time to notice this absolute stunner!
...and then I went back to sleep...
I was tired mostly as it had been a busy week, and then yesterday had been super busy too. I'd earned myself a little lay-in, and so it wasn't untill 9am when I got up out of bed.
Today is meant to be an easier day, but there still plenty to do, so for the rest of the morning I've been pottering around the house, catching up on little bits of housework and tidying stuff away.
mostly little bits such as emptying the bins, hoovering throughout and washing the pots from yesterday.
By the time it was lunchtime, I decided I was due a little run, to help with the recovery from yesterdays running and walking. I knew I didn't need much, so I headed out to the bypass for an easy-ish 4km. It would have been super easy, but it was blowing a gale out there, and the strong wind always makes it harder than it needs to be!
When I arrived back home, I then went through a selection of strength exercises which mostly consisted of those adductor exercise I mentioned last week, and some squats too. I then finished off with some stretches, all to aid the recovery of the hip issue.
Considering how much I did yesterday, I'm really pleased to report the hip issue hasn't bee affected or made worse.
With todays 4km, I've actually managed to run 45km this week, and is by far my highest mileage week since way back in October... that is a massive win in my book!
I've still got plenty of chores to keep me busy for the rest of the day (including a quick walk to the shops) and then I've got a phone call with my partner to look forward.
This week has been super productive for all sorts of reasons, I wonder if I can maintain this run of good form into next week...?

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Agreed, and yet sometimes the act of having to slow down and keep it 'easy' can be harder than expected! 🤣

That's a good week of running. I am still building mine up again and did not run today. I'll aim for 3 times a week of shorter runs for now. Let's hope the weather is kind to us.
I'm definitely getting back into the swing of things! Have Physio on Wednesday to have another poke around and keep my recovery on track
I do need to remind myself not to get carried away, tomorrow will likely be a rest day.
The weather still looks unsettled over the next 2 weeks, but not as bad as it has been!
