Hello today I will tell you a little about my favorite Venezuelan rock band ...
Caramelos de cianuro.
Caramelos de cianuro is a Venezuelan rock band originally from Caracas. It is also known as CDC or Caramelos. It was founded in 1991 by Asier Cazalis (vocalist and bassist), Luis Golding (guitarist), Miguel Ángel González (guitarist) and Pablo Martínez (drummer).
In 1994 the band released their first studio album Cuentos para Adultos with which they had their first appearances on national TV, radio interviews and live performances, thus achieving a good promotion and press for the album, quickly creating a national group of followers of the Caracas band.
In 1996 the band rose to stardom after the release of their second studio album Harakiri City under the record label Polygram, achieving national fame and success with songs such as ‘’ El Martillo ’’ and ‘’ Cloroformo ’’.
In 2000 Caramelos de Cianuro made the premiere of Miss Mujerzuela, the name given to her third studio album, from which two numbers one are extracted on national radio stations with "Las Estrellas" and "Verónica", in mid-2001 on album certified platinum after selling more than 150,000 copies.
After a long season of touring as a promotion, the band returns to Venezuela and enters Mérida, the heart of the country, for the composition of one of their most successful productions: Frisbee, their fourth studio album and this time characterized by punk pop and comprised of eleven songs released under the Universal Music label, this album gave the band recognition from the Spanish public after the release of '' El Ultimo Polvo '' as a single, which became one of the most requested videos MTV Latin America in 2003, the same year the band signed commercial contracts with brands like Pepsi for future work.
In 2007, the band returned with their fifth album Flor de Fuego, certified platinum, which is undoubtedly one of their greatest musical jewels. The first promotional single ‘’ Como Serpiente ’’ managed to enter # 10 on the Record Report, the most important list in Venezuela. It is here, with the promotion of this album, where the band seizes its international audience in the United States, Spain and Colombia with a series of concerts as part of the promotional tour. The album reveals numerous icons of her career such as ‘’ No Eres Tú ’’, ‘’ Baby Cohete ’’ and ‘’ Flor de Fuego ’’.
In 2009, the leader of the band announced that the recordings of the sixth album would have begun in January of the same year in New York City and Caracas under the production of Héctor Castillo (who previously would have worked with icon David Bowie and Cerati ), and in the album they sought to rescue the roots of Venezuelan rock. The first promotional single ‘’ Rubia Sol Morena Luna ’’ reached the top of the national Top 100 and Pop / Rock charts. Gems from her career are extracted from the album, such as ‘’ Verano ’’, ‘’ La Casa ’’, ‘’ 2 Caras, 2 Corazones ’’, ‘’ Adiós Amor ’’ and a repertoire of 7 more songs.
Caramelos de Cianuro released on July 8, 2015, their seventh studio album from which they would have been giving clues in concerts in 2014. From it, songs such as "Abismo", "Tocado por un Ángel" and "Tu Eres de Esas."
In December 2019, as they had planned, they released their new record production. Many of the best known songs of Caramelos de Cianuro make up the "Retrovisor Acústico".
