It's all about 80's!

Hi! I'm Jota, the M4L's team designer. The main reason I agreed to join this team is that I love music! Specific those hits from the 80's!

I was born in 1997, and sadly by then, many of my todays idols were gone...
When I hear about 80's music, all of them come to my mind and I fantasize of a world with every single one playing together.

One of my dearest memories is being with my parents by the route on holidays listening to UB40 wanting to "fix the rat" in that kitchen (ps: i'm listening to it while writting this post), and it makes me think about how much those years of incredible music revolutionized the way people thought about music. So many lives touched...

I thought this decade it's so valuable that deserved a post in this amazing platform and community we are creating.

So, I want to know what do you guys think about this. When you hear the phrase "80's music" what musicians are brought to your mind?

I think about Michael Jackson, Elton John, Queen, UB40, Eurythmics, and many others. Are you with me?

If this post did remind you any good times, here's a good playlist to help you feel it!

Hope you liked this post and that maybe can make a good discussion in the comments! See you around guys! I'm so excited to show you how is it gonna be the new UI!

Take care,
Jota!

Hmmm. When did I hear the phrase 80s music...let me think....

Probably around 1980. ;-)

Being born in 1967, the 80s were really my formative years, musically. I bought my first record in 1978 (I wrote about that here --> https://peakd.com/hive-175836/@gribbles/gribbles-record-collection-listening-chain-1), though I do remember music before that in the 70s (I have a nostalgia playlist that I'll share with some writeup at some point). I started secondary school in 1979, and so 80s music soundtracked my high school years, and it became embedded in my life. As well as the mainstream stuff (which makes up your wonderful gallery), the alternative/indie side started and exploded in that decade - and I remember how exciting that was when it crossed over into the charts, and maybe even on to Top of the Pops on a Thursday night.

Happy days, indeed.

Anyway - welcome aboard. I'm really excited to see what you bring to the look & feel of M4L. (The sooner you can get rid of those green on white links, the better ;-) :-D)

Wow! It must been some amazing times living back in that decade, and mostly because you were on highschool, what a great story you brought to us! Thank you so much for the comment, and I'll be waiting for your coming posts!

I enjoy a lot of the music of the 80s. Bryan Adams, Journey, Jefferson Starship, Tina Turner, Def Leppard, Winger, lots of different bands...

nice one! love the 80's music!

What a 100 prettiest songs. Of course, the 80's was the best time in every way and musically it was brutal. Thank you for sharing such an excellent compilation.

Vaya 100 canciones más bonitas. Desde luego, los 80's fue la mejor época en todos los sentidos y musicalmente fue brutal. Gracias por compartir tan excelente recopilatorio.
