point of view of stranded astronaut

In 1979 I became the first African in space
On a secret flight to the salyut 6 space station
Something happened on my second flight
To another Soviet military space station

I was stranded there in 1990
when the Soviet Union dissolved
The rest of my crew returned to Earth
But my place was taken up by return cargo

There have been occasional supply flights
To keep me going
I am still in good humor
But I want to come home
Yeah I want to come home
