I want to share some ideas to protect your instruments so that they are not stolen.
When the beats are produced there are two ways in which we do it.
when an artist contacts us and asks us to make a beat.
when we create the beats on our own and upload it to the networks to sell the licenses.
Way 1) is the easiest way to protect it. I check what it works to do with a contract.
The first thing is to clarify that we work through a contract in which all the terms of use of the beat are set and the amount of royalties that will be redeemed as 80% of the streams for the singer and 20% for the creators of the beat and that at the time of registering the theme, it includes us in the formula of authors and composers.
The problem with point 2) is that when uploading it to social networks such as YouTube there are people who like your beat and only some will contact you and there are some who will steal it, to avoid this we must:
-Find out which entity protects the copyright in your paid and protects your beat under an official copyright cello.
If you do not want to do this because you are just starting and you feel that there is not so much danger of being stolen, you can do the following.
-Put a producer tag on all your beats before uploading them to YouTube or to the page that you upload them,
It is important to bear in mind that when selling your licenses you must remove the tag and that when uploading the beats with the tags, do not put the tag at full volume but disguise it a little with the beat in this way if they were to steal you the beat you have every right to be able to denounce the artist and present this as evidence
-upload your beats to youtube content ID which is a saints database that contains works in audio and video format in this way your beats are protected, the way to do this is by using a distro like distrokid or whatever you prefer, just make sure to That it has a white list so that they can add to the channels of the artists who buy the license so that copyright content does not come out.
-The other way is that if we do not want to upload it to YouTube content ID, let's add a video with our beat in this way, if another person uploads something using our beat, we will receive a notification with all the videos that have it, which we can report and make it lower them or take 100% of their royalties.
