It is said that singing was born as a first vocal expression, beyond the complex language that we currently use and the diversity of languages in the world, the most real way of expressing ourselves was through sounds. In its origins, the voice was the highest form of language, which was surely inspired by primitive cults and everything that surrounded them and created an impact on the senses. It could be said that language was born out of imitation and the need to express oneself around it.
There are those who affirm that the song was born before the spoken language, in species like the “birds”. The theories of the appearance of language date its birth approximately 50,000 years ago, as part of an evolution of the skeletal system and a mutation of the central part of the brain, where our hability to produce sounds is found, such as: vowels and consonants, which at the Mixing forms a language, allowing communication through words, just as we can generate and control sounds so that they have a certain height and pitch by joining it with words, which differentiates us from other animals that also have the ability to produce sounds or even more melodic sounds but they don't speak.
Now imagine yourself in the middle of nowhere, trees everywhere, flowers and a river running by your side. The wind hitting your face, your gaze at the blue sky and the sun hitting the most leafy tree in the area and you standing in front of it, you hear a song that comes from the tree. Surprised, you turn around and look for where this sound comes from that you've never heard before. Two turquoise blue wings unfold to the sky, the animal flies to a branch a little higher, you see... what is it? You have never seen anything like this. You memorize their song and run as fast as you can looking for your friends among thickets of green leaves. How do you explain what you saw and felt without words? Can you imagine it?
The need to express to the other what you see, feel or think must have led man to use increasingly complex syllables and intonations until he reached the language we know today, together with physical and mental evolution, since to articulate all the words that we currently use, it takes the work of many muscles of the face, neck, etc. therefore it is believed that in principle communication was carried out through movements of the limbs and not so complex sounds or noises, with more vowels and fewer consonants.
It is good to say that we will never know for sure the beginning of speech and song, but we can imagine why it was started and analyze theories of language that contribute scenes the history of the voice.
It is incredible to know that within you you carry an instrument which you can now use to communicate, breathe and in turn sing and express yourself to the world. The voice is our most real and trustworthy expression tool through words, which make it easier for us to convey emotions and ideas to others. It is important to mention that breathing goes hand in hand with the process of singing and language. Since breathing is not only to stay alive but if we do not have conscious breathing we can even suffer from illnesses due to bad breath. Therefore, it must be carried out in a conscious way and always trying to listen to our body. Get to know yourself and experiment with your voice.
Platon said that the voice was:
"An impact of the air that reaches the soul through the ears."
