Hello friends! This is the 3rd edition of our blog that we do for musicforlife. This time we bring you "LA GUITARRA GITANA", or "Manouche" guitar.
Don't let your eyes fool you! This guitar seems to be typical, but the truth is, it is a unique species. I have had the opportunity to play a couple of the cheaper series and it really is an experience unique to all the guitars I have played in my life. Its sound reminds me a lot of rolling a chariot on the ground, in short too organic.
Its structure is somewhat different from the Spanish guitar that we commonly know, from the outset, its main objective was a resonance superior to that of a banjo for example, since these guitars date from the year 1920-30s. Add steel strings, a movable violin-like bridge, and orchestral stringed instruments that lead to a very futuristic metal tailpiece for its time.
I would like to leave the story of Django for another time, since it is the human materialization of that same sound given off by the guitar, so to speak, they are made for each other. And if you want to go ahead to the next blog, find out about this character called DJANGO R. Of whom it is said that he filled the main stages of France, already occupied by the Nazis being of gypsy origin.
The swing manouche is the genre where the sonority of a guitar of this magnitude was first developed, which can reach the distinctive strength of the guitar.
This is the group where I play in Veracruz Mexico "GALLIPSY"
with one of our original songs called "BONACHON"
