Good Management, A Necessity for Business

in Project HOPE5 years ago (edited)

Either AT&T or General motors, or the local stores in your environment one thing you need to understand is that a business is an organization in which basic resources which includes materials (Finance, raw materials) and labor, are assembled and or processed to provide goods or services for customers consumption. Sizes and scales may differ but all business have one goal which is to give out goods and or services to customers in exchange for money or other items of value.

What make a business successful in any scale is management and it is deciding what to do and then getting it done at the right time through people. You cannot grow a business if you are not going to utiliz0e the major resources you have which is people. A lot of businesses that started without getting a loan from the bank has closed down thanks to lack of proper management. Using management to leverage on humans as resources will help to manage other resources like finance, knowledge, equipment and plans. In other to manage a business properly to the ability to get the best result of humans, finance and material resources are needed.

Being A Good Manager

Managing people isn’t easy coupled with the fact that different people think and receive things differently. It can be very frustrating to get people to do what you want them to do but the ability to get them to agree with you means you are a step to getting your business ahead. The ability to manage both workers and customer while interacting with them is what makes a business grow. You might be good with numbers but you can’t always be correct with humans. Certain characteristic make a person a good manager, this fundamental characteristics include;

  • Knowing where a business is currently, where it is going to and how to get it there.
  • Being able to master as well as predict events in the future
  • Ability to communicate properly with both workers and customers
  • Ability to set clear goals
  • Understand that humans are different
  • Ability to encourage and keep fellow workers going
  • Being able to build trust.

Conclusion

For every successful business, kudos goes to the management who are people who sail the business ship in times of and storms. As a good manager you should be able to make your vision clear to both customers and staffs, also be able to persuade both staffs and customers using facts, logic and reason to make them understand you. As a good manager, you should be able to draw other peoples point of view and make them understand that you get their point at the same time be able to give credits as well as praises for good suggestions and ideas also, be able to make people feel they are part of the business or the project.

Sort:

The most difficult branch in an organisation or a business is management. It takes a lot of experience, patience as well as understanding to run a managerial level.

A managers mistake can cost a company its entire existence and make them go bankrupt.

Thanks for sharing this post about business management.

Handling the theoretical aspect of a company as well as the figure part can be difficult but not as difficult as making staffs and workers understand your goal.

I remembered a friend of mine lamenting severely when he got a job to manage a project as well as increase sales by 20% in one year. He was saying if it were to work on numbers, it would have been easy but working on humans was a very difficult task. It took him a while to get his team to understand what he was doing and were he was going.

We must congratulate that it will achieve that 20%, in fact the human aspects of the working groups can be more challenging than the technical or technological aspects.

Funny but true, thanks for coming around @pedrobrito2004

You're Welcome!

I understand your friends case @gbenga, handling humans is one difficult task to perform.

I have heard that the administration is a difficult job, but that within that the Human Resources administration can be a real hell.

After checking your blog, I noticed that you spent 7 months of not publishing. I hope it wasn't because of health problems.

The most important thing is that you're back and you've just made the right decision: you used the Project Hope Hive!

Keep going, try harder every day. I notice you have great talent.
Please surprise us with what you can do.

Welcome to the family.
Your friend, Juan.

Thanks for the care @juanmolina, it was not sickness, just some offline issues that required dedication.

Dear @ojerinde

Another interesting publication. It's surely not a rocket sience that it's imperative for any business to be management. However it's a bit like with 'common knowledge' -> it's just not so common.

What I mean is that - I've been dealing with different business owners or managers within my lifetime and more often than I would expect - I had impression that I'm talking to someone who has no idea about management. Also most people seem to be mistaking being a boss with managing / leading the team.

And the way some of those managers show that they "care" about their people is only making me believe, that not all of them see people as an asset / resource. Or if they do - then they act like they want to use those resources to the limits.

You might be good with numbers but you can’t always be correct with humans.

You've nailed it!

Upvote on the way :)
Yours, Piotr

One thing I have also noticed about the human nature is that we handle situations differently, what could mean the world to a person may be absolute rubbish to another, the human nature is much more technical than we can describe.
I really appreciate your support.

Every position in a business is very important for the growth of the business but the management aspect is very vital because they make decisions for the entire business and their decisions is as important as the existence of the business.

Hi @ojerinde

Excellent friend.
I tell you my wife is a professor at a university in Venezuela. and dictates the subject Human Management or (Human Resources.) Currently this name is not very appropriate. LOL
However, and returning to the subject in question, every company its main resource is the human one of it will depend whenever it goes well, despite the new AI Technologies. In spite of that, the Human always makes a company grow.

Saludos

Hmmm, you are absolutely correct the human factor cannot be completely replaced, do extend my warm regards to your wife.

I am going to totally agree with you about your analysis about management, proper management is the bed rock of every good business.

Yes it is, thanks for reading.

There is no doubt that resource management is an essential part of every company's success. Thank you for sharing this article with the #project.hope community. Greetings

Thanks a lot for reading my post. I am glad you liked it.

Thanks for coming around @carlos84.

Management is no way an easy task because humans reason in different ways and also interpret things differently. It takes an appropriate level of wisdom as well as understanding to manage humans without issues (that is if possible).

Hello ajewa, i appreciate your contribution.
