How to deal with Laziness

in Project HOPE4 years ago (edited)

It is important to have lazy days. As a matter of fact, it is adviced. No matter how fun or interesting your life may be you are required to have a lazy day. Although, when most days are considered lazy days for you, you are living a lazy life.
Laziness is the greatest obstacle against productivity. You find that you start procrastinating a lot, first on minor things like house chores, doing the laundry, even cooking and then it gradually affect your place of work and you begin to feel stressed out more than usual due to the lack of interest and passion you begin to feel for your job. It begins to affect your productivity in your place of work so much that you begin to have more complaints about the job.

Once you notice all these, you begin to ask yourself “Why am I so lazy and how can I overcome this laziness?”, the answer is going to be a whole lot of work and discipline to be honest but it works.
.
If you are serious about turning a new leaf and becoming more productive, then these tips are for you.

STOP BEING HARD ON YOURSELF

Understand that you are not perfect and though you will change, but these things take time. Quit with the negative thoughts and talk. Self love is what you need. So you are not perfect, so what? The most important thing is that you are can change, you can adapt and you can be productive!

QUIT WITH THE EXCUSES!

Seriously, stop it! That’s the root of all evil! That’s how you got here in the first place after all.
Hey you! Yes you, I can already see the excuse forming in your mind, even right now, you are dreaming up excuses on why you shouldn’t finish up this article, please throw that excuse in the waste bin, it has no place here.

NEVER GIVE UP

How else do I say this? Never ever give up, not ever! Picture that person you want to be in your mind, do you see that person as someone that would easily give up? Ofcourse not. Do you think you can be that person if you give up? No, ofcourse not. Need I go on? No, I don’t think so.

LIST OUT YOUR GOALS

We all have goals, you literally cannot be productive without them. How else can you know if you are making progress without these goals? So, what do you want to achieve? First, you need to know what you want to achieve, then comes the how you can achieve them. This is not a ”make a list of goals contest”, you won’t just make them, look at them and smile feeling proud of yourself for having such awesome goals and then forgetting all about them. You have to go by these goals, act on it, test yourself and push yourself based on these goals with a positive mindset, no doubt you will see yourself making changes that you never thought was possible.

SET OUT DAILY REMINDERS

It is important to set out daily reminders of what you wish you wish to accomplish. Tell yourself “I will do this and that today and complete them all today, I will not carry anyone over to tomorrow”. You have to put in the work, learn to discipline yourself. Sounds like hard work, doesn’t it? Well, hardwork does pay.

UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANNOT DO THIS ALONE

You need a friend, partner or a group that will stand by you and motivate you. Someone willing to help you avoid the unnecessary distractions, assist you in planning, tell you the truth about yourself, assist you in taking actions, and most importantly, someone who would not judge you or make you feel less about yourself. After all, you are turning a new leaf, gradually becoming this new and improved amazing and productive being that’s going to make you past self jealous. You need all the help you can get and that is not a bad thing, it doesn’t make you weak. No one is an island.

TREAT YOURSELF

Who doesn’t love to have fun? Who doesn’t like nice things? You have got to show yourself a little love now and then, especially after a good days work, and by that, I mean a day of no procrastinations, a day of setting goals and reminders and successfully putting in the works and making accomplishment. You’ve got to at yourself at the back, you deserve it!

Hi friend, excellent advice, certainly there are days when we do not want to do anything, we just want to be in bed, and as you say the days of distraction and rest are also important, but we must create a balance. Nothing in excess is good, so the productive days should be more, as long as we enjoy what we do. Greetings.

you have to put laziness aside and face life with enthusiasm and joy.
