Whaleshares used to be a social platform just like Steem and Hive where members would upvote with their whalestake and earn from post reward.
After the Whaleshares HF4 last year, it became a tipping platform like reddit.
The abuse of exchange upvotes had totally been removed since tipping one another is like giving money out of their own pocket so it makes no sense.
With the new system, each member would receive a certain amount of liquid wls based on the amount of whalestake that they have.
This amount of liquid wls would have to be claimed every 24 hours. It can be transferred to power up as whalestake or transfer to tipping jar.
We need to power down to get liquid wls if we are not buying it.
The current whaleshares platform enables anyone to earn passively based on their whalestake even if they do not post a single content on the platform.
I have about 120 000 whalestake that gives me about 133 wls daily.
wls has just been added to Hive engine so it really makes it easy for me to convert wls to Hive now.
Serious whaleshares members can also convert their Hives to wls so that they can power up their whaleshares account.
The most recent buyer had bought it at the rate of 1 wls for 0.01 hive.
If I sell 931 wls weekly, I would get 9.31 Hives weekly.
This is really passive earning even if I do not post a single post on whaleshares platform.
Not sure whether you think it is good investment as no one will know the future of this whaleshares platform but it does have very nice witnesses too.
I am not encouraging anyone to dump your money into whaleshares but I think you can see that it is as good as mining wls passively without us doing anything actually.

How many hive will I have to convert to wls to earn like 5 hive per day?
I earn about 133 wls daily from staking 120 000 wls which is about 1 Hive earning daily. You probably would need about 5 times of my current stake which is about 500k wls which will cost about 5000 Hives at the higher price rate at Hive Engine but you can buy at lower price by placing a purchase order. Staking wls will need a whaleshare account actually and transfer of our purchased wls from Hive engine to our whareshare account for staking. That is quite a lot of money to invest so careful planning is needed as no one knows the future of whaleshares platform so there is still a certain degree of risk.
If nobody is interested in creating content ,nobody interested in curating other,(or tipping) then I guess WLS need to re thing the strategy. How can platform will sustain without content.

With the current system, it is hard to earn through content creation at Whaleshares but mining whareshares tokens through staking to get daily reward seems to be more rewarding than content creation. Before the changing to tipping, there were those who opposed it but the decision was not changed. As mentioned, no one knows its future so investing in it will need to take calculated risk and some older members have a passion for it. I have not posted there for some time actually and I am simply claiming daily rewarding from the staked tokens.
I have an account there, I just have to have in liquid or activate my tokens?
