How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. Part XII: How to obtain cooperation?

By nature we are always suspicious of what comes to us from nowhere, especially from the idea that we always say that nothing is given away in this world, and if they are not given away it is probably because it is a scam.

For the above mentioned is that we also tend to have more confidence in the ideas that we discover in ourselves than in the ideas that are served to us on a silver platter. In the case that this is our thought of life, that is to say in the case that this is our philosophy then we must think that the others must also think like us, therefore it is prudent that we do not commit the error of forcing other people to have to accept to fullness the opinions that we emit.

Even if our ideas are good, they do not have to be accepted or serve as examples in others, since the majority may also want to live their own experiences and most likely learn from them, as the saying goes: "nobody learns from the pain of others".

When we try to teach and give advice more by suggestions than by imposition, perhaps the person we are instructing may come to a more sustainable learning of their own. With suggestions we will allow others to create their own personality with their own criteria and perhaps they will be able to achieve good results.

I believe that when we leave the free will to choose what we want we generate a satisfaction in the other person who will really see us as his friend, therefore he will try to join our ideals and will want to form a single team, therefore we will be achieving cooperation between the parties.

Even this tactic from my perspective can work even for business, because when I go out to buy I do not like that they put the merchandise through my eyes and practically force me to buy, because that attitude of the seller generates fear and keeps me away from that purchase, on the contrary when the seller lets me observe and choose calmly without any additional pressure, almost always when it is like that I end up buying.

We will not add anyone to our team if we try at every moment to make our recommendations look like something obligatory, on the contrary we will add people to our objectives as long as we let others learn by themselves only by providing slight recommendations, if it is possible that these recommendations sound more like a praise than a recommendation.

We must be like the rivers and bodies of water that receive large amounts of water from the mountains to feed in large proportions, these rivers achieve this because they are located below the mountains, if we really want to practice and put into practice wisdom, then let us be truly wise, if we want to be wise we simply place ourselves below others, and in the end we will be above them in greatness, wisdom and knowledge.

As a general moral and that can serve us as learning is to allow us to allow other people to feel and think that their ideas are valuable, if they are not really simply make very sublime suggestions that the other person can easily grasp, the idea is simply to add followers to our team and end up being all together a great cooperative team and that together we achieve the objectives set.
