Since yesterday, round 159 of the LMAC contest is running and there is still time until Monday to submit your collage. As a little incentive, the winners of this round can look forward to a huge pile of 153 Hive.

Ich habe zwar nichts vom finanziellen Anreiz, da ich, wie gewohnt, außer Konkurenz teilnehme. Aber den Spaß ist es mir allemal wert.
About my collage
This time it was quite easy to get inspiration for my LMAC collage, because I already had my inspiration for it before I saw the template photo for this round. The template came at the right time, because I really wanted to make a picture of it.
Well, it turned out a bit abstract, but that's a thing the world of art might be able to deal with.
And that's how I got this inspiration...
Basically, it was a bit of self-recognition. Recently, when I was talking with my wife and my mother-in-law about how times have changed, my mother-in-law noted that my wife and me could not be defeated by almost anything. No matter what happened, no matter what changed in our lives, we would find ways to cope well.
I realised that although this may be a bit true for today, it really was not always the case.
In the course of many and rapid changes in our lives, we had to overcome many hurdles and had to learn to adapt to new situations. And finally, it became part of our mentality to be flexible - not to despair and to always try to find the best way. Always trying to embrace change and even to make it work for us. Flexibility and creativity simply are kings!
Looking back at my earlier ways of thinking about life, they seem very rigid and cumbersome to me. I even feel almost a little pity for this, in relation to me today, much more helpless guy.
I think it's the same for everyone. One is always more stupid yesterday than tomorrow.
But if we hadn't been so stupid in the past, we wouldn't have had to become wiser.
And I'm already so excited to see how this story goes on
Über meine Collage
Dieses Mal war es recht einfach, Inspiration für meine LMAC-Collage zu erlangen, denn ich hatte sie schon bevor ich das Vorlagen-Foto für diese Runde gesehen habe. Die Vorlage kam mir dann quasi wie gerufen, da ich dazu unbedingt ein Bild mal machen wollte.
Naja, es wurde ein wenig abstrakt. Aber damit kommt die Welt der Kunst ja klar.
Und so kam ich zu dieser Inspiration...
Im Grunde war es ein Bisschen Selbsterkenntnis. Als ich mich neulich mit meiner Frau und meiner Schwiegermutter über den Wandel der Zeit unterhielt, stellte meine Schwiegermutter fest, dass meine Frau und ich durch fast nichts unterzukriegen seien. Egal was geschehe, was auch immer sich ändere, in unserem Leben, wir würden Wege finden, gut damit klar zu kommen.
Mir wurde bewusst, dass das für heutzutage zwar ein Wenig stimmen mag, aber ganz und gar nicht immer so war.
Wir mussten im Zuge vieler und zügiger Veränderungen in unserem Leben, viele Hürden nehmen und lernen, uns an neue Situationen anzupassen. Und schließlich wurde es Teil unserer Mentalität, flexibel zu sein - Nicht zu verzweifeln und immer zu versuchen, den optimalen Weg zu finden. Stets versuchen wir uns auf Veränderungen einzulassen und sogar für uns zu nutzen. Flexiblität und Kreativität sind eben Könige!
Rückblickend auf meine früheren Lebensdenkweisen, kommen mir diese heute doch sehr starr und schwerfällig vor. Ich empfinde sogar beinahe etwas Mitleid für diesen, im Verhältnis zu mir heute, viel hilfloseren Kerl.
Ich schätze, es geht jedem so. Man ist gestern immer dümmer als morgen.
Wäre man einst jedoch nicht so doof gewesen, hätte es nie einen Grund gegeben, schlauer werden zu müssen.
Und ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie diese Geschichte weitergeht.

These are the materials I have made use of to create my collage. Besides the images below, I also painted some details myself (shadows, lights, highlights) and made completely new image elements from parts of these images (the girls lower body).
For the work on the collage I only used the opensource image editor GIMP.

Materialien
Dies sind die Materialien die ich zum Erstellen meiner Collage verwendet habe. Neben den unten aufgeführten Bildern, habe ich auch Details selbst gemalt (Schatten, Lichter, Glanzlichter) und komplett Neues aus Teilen der Bilder gemacht (Unterleib des Mädchens).
Ich habe für die komplette Arbeit an der Collage, das opensource Bildbearbeitungsprogramm GIMP verwendet.
An dieser Stelle auch vielen Dank an @mballesteros und @redheadpei. Eure Bildbeiträge für die #LIL waren sehr hilfreich.

What is LMAC?
LMAC is a great community for artists of all skill levels. The name of the community is an abbreviation and stands for "Let's make a collage".
Just take a look. Even if you think you are not an artist, LMAC may prove you wrong.

We are currently building our own photo/image library that we can use as a image source for our collages, but also every Hiver beyond LMAC is very welcome to use the images from it.

Love the abstract look and the message. The wise men on the pillars and the man who just pulled his head out of the water to take a less rigid view of the world.

I can't interpret it, because its symbolism means something to you. All I can do is tell you what it means to me:
The is the past, literally set in stone, and then there is life its different stages. A boy, eager, impulsive. The next phase, the dolphin swimming through life. Finally the peace of the duck floating, finding it stride, accommodating its environment. In the distance, the horizon. What will be?
An artist creates and then the audience takes over. That fate of all art :))

That's very interesting. Not least because your interpretation partly coincides with my intentions.
Also for me, the gate of stone is a symbol for time. In my collage, it stands for time in general.
It is the image depth of the world behind the gate that stands for the past. The autumnal row of trees stands for a very past time of deprivation.
In the foreground there are the legs that have no torso, and the child in the water has fins instead. Where actually the belly on top of the legs should appear, there is an open zipper. The legs are removable.
The child is at the very front in the image depth of the world behind the gate, it is in the present. At this time it has already learned to adapt and to be flexible (legs replaced by fins).
Both dolphin and duck are contemporary witnesses and idols at the same time, from various times in the past to the present. And in the present they are even introjects.
Indeed, it is very abstract. Actually, it wasm't meant to be a symbolism that only I can understand. But I obviously failed a bit. Instead, it has become at least a funny picture, I hope. :-D
