Our nature is amazing and so does the various gifts that it produces. Nature is abundant of many surprises. It is not too late when I hit this little flower that looks so flupoy and spongy. I bet many people are unaware of the ge es of the flower, but most of us have played with with this in our child hood. This pink flower appears very delicate as it is telling me "not to touch".

But it eventually, like the plant, the flower is too. The name of the plant is touch me not. Yes it tis the same plant, that shy away when we touch them. The touch-me-not plant, also known as Mimosa pudica, responds to touch by rapidly folding its leaves inward and drooping. This defensive mechanism is thought to make the plant less appealing to herbivores. They grow in small leaves cluster and mostly found in the wild. I never seen a flower of it, but now I saw this jaw dropping beauty right in front of my eyes.

The plant has a natural phenomenon with some science logic behind it. When touched, the plant's cells send electrical signals, which cause the cells in the pulvinus to release potassium and water. This loss of water causes the pulvinus to bend over, which makes the leaflets fold. Well the more I like to play with the leaves, I avoid any touch with this flurry beauty. I don't want it to shrink.

The pink flowers have very thin streak of petals, and some sparkling white dotes on the top of each the streaky lines. Touch me not plant grows this small, soft, delicate flowers through pollination by insects and wind.

I don't want this flower to shrink , and that is the reason that stopped me from any manual touch. I wanted to enjoy the beauty and I did rightly so by capturing few shots.
