Sunrise meditation on the south coast of Africa

Africa, my home continent, may be big - bigger than most land masses on the planet. There is a massive amount of land and therfore wide open space to roam about, like the wild animals on the plains.

However, more than land, I also have here on the southernmost coastline, a lot of sea. The coast line of South Africa alone is perhaps around 3000km. You can hike for miles along the coast and not see much development.

And even more than sea, there is sky. We have a big sky. If course everyone anywhere in the planet shares that big sky, but here you can feel dwarved by it. Much like you would in a desert.

And to top it all we have a lot of sun, like all year long, with a bit of cloud in winter for a few days, but much. With all this vast sun, sea, sky and land, life feels inspiring, uplifting and free. You can't always find that in a city.

What I lack here in urban facilities, I more than make up for in nurturing natural surroundings. Which is a very healthy place to be. No crowds. No pollution. No disease. Not that I notice anyway.

And one again I've been able to capture a serene and subtle southern sunrise over the Indian Ocean in today's photos. The variety is perhaps limited, since the vast open space looks uniform. However, the constant movement of the clouds along with the rising of the sun as the earth spins, provides subtle shifts with each frame.

This effect of wheels spinning within wheels - as the Earth spins around is core and the clouds spin around the earth, all spinning around the sun - is exhilarating to view. And despite all this speed of movement, I still feel like the still center of it all, where movement is hardly noticeable, from one moment to the next.

This is the perfect meditation place and time, as the sun rises at the start of the day. The sea is calm in this sheltered bay and the mood is tranquil. The world seems peaceful from this perspective.

Thus I share these photos with you so that you can get a glimpse of the peace that can be achieved on our planet if you wish. Nothing is more important right now. In a peaceful state, one can focus on higher states of consciousness and bring our best.

I wish you all the best that life has to offer. You are a child of the universe, and of the sun. Remember your true nature and find yourself once more.
