Can a tree split a rock?

Hello photography lovers.

Look at these cute plants on this rock that I spotted while hiking trough Portugal.
Google told me it's some kind of "succulent" plant ore sedum acre? Are they correct in this?
They store their own water in parts of it's plant body! Very convenient when you grow in an area that could be very dry.

There were many kinds of moss on this rock. I am not even trying to google them. They all look alike and I don't want to make a mistake here.

I sure miss my macro lens here. I needed to sell it at one point in my poor life.

But my eye caught this rock because of this big tree sticking out of it. The rock was split in half here but I don't know if the tree did that or that it grew in the cracks of the rock.

I think this looks amazing. Nature is pretty strong but also so fragile.

What do you think? Can a tree split a rock like this?
