Mt. Etay River is a name that I've never heard of, not until my friends invited me to chill for a moment. At first, I was confused but thrilled at the same time. I was hesitant because the name did not sound familiar to me. It's just a neighboring city, yet I failed to know (how pathetic isn't it?) But as they described the place to me, I was left in awe. This may sound exaggerated, but hey, the place? It's superb. It feels like paradise, and it came out straight out of the book because of its perfection. You cannot imagine a place like this in a hidden and remote area.

The place was utterly impressive. Like the moment you see the river, it feels like it's inviting you immediately! The place is surrounded by lush flora and fauna. If you get scared of getting tan, you don't need to be worried, as the area is shaded by big trees. There were big and small rocks surrounded by the water. The water gleams in a vibrant light green shade and is clear, perfectly mirroring your reflection.

You can dip your feet if you are too tired and want to feel the refreshing vibe of the cold water. But I suggest you swim in the water, which is really cold and refreshing. It feels like every dive, your stress goes away. Trust me, you won't won't regret it! But to give you a heads up, if you are not a pro at swimming, you should swim in shallow water. If you are up for more extra-challenging, you should venture into the deepest part of the water.

Mount Etay offers calmness and a spirit-free vibe. It is the perfect place to retreat for a while.

HOW TO GET AT MT. ETAY RIVER CARMEN, CEBU

Coming from the South? You may ride at North Bus Terminal and ask the konduktor to drop off at Carmen Public Market. From there, you can ask the locals to go to Brgy. Corte Carmen. If you are riding public transportation, you may rent a motorcycle that will drop you off at the place. If you are riding private transportation, you may look for a landmark of Carmen Dam.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT MT. ETAY RIVER

If you bring your vehicle, you can park it near the area. However, embrace yourself and walk a short distance to reach the river. You might be worried about the scorching sun; no worries, the pathway is surrounded by large trees, providing a melodic and calm walk as you approach the river.

Quick Heads Up! The road to the river is rugged and rocky; you must go downhill to reach the location.

You should also bring your food as there are no stores in the area. Most Importantly, leave no traces, as we would like to see this place thrive and be known to the people.
