My 2021 Experience

The year 2021 is a year that I can never forget. If I could describe this year in one word, that word would be eventful. This year, I had some wins, some losses, shed some tears, laughed, expressed depression, fell in love, fell out of love, wanted to do what I promised myself not to, made some new bonds, broke some, realized what life really is and the journey is well, just starting.

2020 as we all know was a sad year as we lost some people due to the pandemic. While some were catching cruise, having fun, while I guess others were learning a trade or two and I happened to fall into learning during the lockdown. So 2021 was a year I wanted to test out what I learned (cryptocurrency) even though it was not my first time, I decided to learn the depth and explore. Entering 2021, I planned to use that knowledge to the best of my abilities.

My Wins.

  • Starting up a physical business on campus.

As I said earlier, there were wins and I'm grateful that I got to record them. In 2021, I got to chase my dream. I got to open my small restaurant. Just a place where students can just hang out and chill since there were hardly any around my side. It was epic but also stressful. Being the only one running it and getting an assistant was so difficult.

  • Crypto Community.

Another win was getting to get a crypto community going. In the community with the assistance of some individuals I met online, we trained, mentored, and educated newbies on the crypto space. It was so amazing seeing people do well knowing you taught them. That feeling was mind-blowing.

  • My sisters got married.

Even though this wasn't a personal win, but it was a recorded win. So my sisters got married this year. One was out of the blue because she wanted to travel out and needed to get married so the man could come to join her. The second was what we had in mind and planned. So there you have it, the two girls are out of the house remains the two guys. lolz

  • Starting an affiliate site.

I started with some of my friends in school to start an affiliate news reading site and it lasted for 5 months. It stayed that long because we wanted to be genuine, wanted to be different from the rest sites. Only for us to know that we were prolonging the inevitable. Well at least during those months of being active, we made people smile. I for one was happy cause I used my affiliate bonus to acquire some physical assets. So that was two wins in one.

Loss

I will just go straight to the point here. I lost the business due to some unseen circumstances such as a fight breaking out with a neighboring town and a curfew was placed since we opened at night it affected us big time. After the curfew was reduced from 7 pm to 10 pm and a week after, a strike took place and lasted for like months. All these took place in the early stage of the business and were not encouraging, so my partners in an attempt to kick me out but were not successful, decided to pull out their share.

After this happened, while I was using my crypto trading to sustain, I was contracted to help sell bitcoin worth #180,000. Normally this would have been a breeze for me but I just didn't understand what went wrong, I lost the money to fraudsters and had to pay back with what I had saved up leaving me a ground zero again. That was when the depression kicked in then I realized that I started from the bottom and climbed to where I was so what's stopping me from trying again?

As I said in the intro, I broke some bonds. One was with my business partners, the other was with someone I thought was my friend when he betrayed me and all.

My heart decided to fall for the only person that was with me in all the trying times. I just didn't know how it happened. I just found out that I was uncomfortable if I don't talk to her. Although this was never part of the bargain since ladies were distractions and I didn't want them at that moment. But I guess I was kind of wrong there.

What I Learnt

In all these happenings, I'd be a fool not to pick out some lessons because technically, we don't lose, we only discover some ways that won't work out. In the business way (my spot), I discovered that it's best to start up on your own and if you are setting up with people, draft out a contract to legalize it no matter how small it might be. Money has spirit shaaa.

Also, have savings. Don't be quick to spend. Having some money set aside for emergencies, learning to accept help from others was a major part of my life because the normal Trojan would rather die doing things himself or die while doing it instead of asking for help.

2021 was indeed a year and I was kicked really hard in the butt but I guess since I survived that, I don't think I can stop yet. I just hope 2022 will be nicer to me.

If wishes were houses lolz. Well, it's to plan and pray.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until my next post,
Keep on buzzing 🐝🐝🐝
I still remain Trojan...

Shit, it's like this speaks to me.

That last part hit me for real.

I've never really like to get help for people but sometimes I need them.

Your wins and Ls have taught me a lot. I love how you're able to pour out your heart and speak from a place of deep experience. It's a thing of beauty

Wow you experienced a lot this year, better year ahead also wishing you a great year

That's the plan. Amen and thanks

You are welcome

Eventful. Yup, that's a good word. I admire that you managed to get over the financial loss, business loss, friendship loss. Those are not easy pills to swallow. The best part is that you haven't lost yourself , which by the way is the only thing you should never want to lose and which actually matters.

Asking for help is a sign of strenght actually. Is shows that you can manage your Ego and assess your situation realistically. Happy holidays🤗

All these losses are what I use to gather up strength to keep pushing. Thanks for stopping by

Hmmm...your experience this year is quite touching...life is full of ups and downs and that is what actually makes it interesting anyways. We becom stronger and better via the things we go through. I hope you recover all of your loss. Nice reading your post @trojan1

Yes if things were easy, we won’t really value all we have.

So you read it all. Wow thanks for stopping by. Have any experiences to share??

Your wins are Amazing brother ❤ More wins to come.. I'm happy you didn't let your loss got in your head, keep your head High more wins are ahead 💯

WI’ll sure do. Thanks how was ur 2021??

May the 2022 a prosperous year

Amen thanks

Sorry it took me so long to follow you….that sounds like a crazy year!!! I can’t believe all that happened in such a short time. My year was pretty quiet.

Running a business with others is really tricky. It’s why I still haven’t started mine. I actually had that experience but I was kicked out before we even started because my business partner found a boyfriend and wanted to work with him instead…

I love to collaborate but I prefer when one person is clearly in charge of the project, or when it’s just for fun or some purpose other than money cause money stirs up peoples complicated fears and other feelings.

A place to hang out is great though. One friend told me he didn’t know where to take someone on a date over there cause most of the shops are really expensive or not relaxing.

Maybe build up some funds from the crypto project and try it yourself on a smaller scale at first? You could even use HivePay 😆

Thanks for stopping by.

My next plan is to start something small again and build it up still gathering funds though.

But instead of being there working, I will simply employ people while I show up once in a while

Things in Nigeria are really expensive that was how we planned a meetup at the beach and getting there we decided to chill while we wait for others. since it was hot, we got ourselves bottled water. Can you imagine they called #500 per one when the normal price is #100

It’s like that at the movie theater here. They know you wanna drink or eat. I don’t go to the movies too much tho. Are there public beaches or are they not so nice? I usually go to the public beach, though it’s really far from where I live. The train costs $20 round trip 😅

If we wanna save money we go to the park, and cafes here are quite cheap in comparison to the overall cost of living.

The thing about Nigeria is that there is really no place you can go without spending. The best for you to do is just sit at home but that gets tiring sometimes. Nigeria my country.

what an experience @trojan1. I see the genius in you and I believe next year shall turn out great for you.

Thanks.

In who ma?? plz come and lend me the glasses you using to see the genius. Coz I haven't seen it yet.

Have a great year also ma'am

Hehehehe, I know you might not agree but that's the fact @trojan1. Do have a prosperous year too @trojan1

Same here ma'am

@trojan1, Life is full of ups and downs, goodtimes and badtimes but in all we should keep giving God the glory. Sorry for the losses and I hope coming 2022 will definitely become a better year for us.

Amen thanks.

But without proper planning, I guess history will definitely repeat itself. Thanks for stopping by boss
