A Cure For The Summer Time Blues

I've always been a lover of the simple things in life. The beauty in the complexities of the natural world. To find some peace where my mind can begin to move freely and escape the echo chamber of the city centre. I'd always look forward to finding a nice secluded place in the woods to decompress for a week or so, gather my thoughts, jot them all down and come back to it. No more hustle and bustle and tossing and tussling. Just greenery.

The serenity of a great view and the little treasures you find along the way...

(Not sure what these lil' fungi are but if you know please leave a comment below!)

Nothing brings me to my senses like a good long stroll in forrest, or soaking up some rays and fresh air by the seaside. Be it fishing, camping , hiking or just a good old 4x4 romp up the old logging roads, getting outside does a world of wonder for the soul.

However living in the city quite far from all the quiet places and lacking a vehicle has made that all a little more complicated this year. I've had to be very careful for my health (and the wellbeing of others of course) to keep good social distancing. Least to say hoping in a buddy's truck with the whole gang for a trip to deep woods has not been a viable option this year.

I'm very excited nonetheless because I will be getting my first bicycle in 14 years! Can you believe it's been that long? I certainly can't. I fear though that I might be the first person ever to forget how to ride a bike! Either way, once I get back on that noble two wheeled steel-steed I hope to be grabbing a lot more beautiful shots like these.

Since our provincial campgrounds are opening back up and with a few in biking distance I may get my chance to have a safe little stay in the woods after all. It may not be the grand adventure to the middle of nowhere I am so fond of but it's certainly gonna be a a big breath of fresh air!

All of these photo's were taken on my various explorations in British Columbia in Canada's Pacific North West.

Thanks for taking this little breather with me to reminisce and I hope you enjoyed the beauty of some of my favourite places. I'll be back with some art for you in no time.

Thanks for reading as always
