Steven's 3 helpful/crappy ideas - YOU decide.

in OCD5 years ago
The title is so cool right? I know, I Know its genius stuff. I have given you dear reader the opportunity to think and decide for yourself if the batshit text I am writing is useful to you or not, i.e, is it an helpful batshit or just batshit batshit. Its something we don't see everyday you know. We just digest information as they come and believe it is that, absolute. The best the media does is to break it down for us and then report. Uuuh, enough of this gibberish nonsense, lets move to the main topic.
So I might be doing this more often I guess, what is that you might ask, well it is to Write three, four or five random ideas that I think might be helpful to making you a less shitty person or your overall improvement as a human being. This ideas are totally random but sometimes they might have a little bit of connection. I have thought about them and I decided that they might be helpful to someone else, my ideas, that is. In this particular article I have this three points (i might be calling them that now) that I think is something to ponder about. Oh yeah, I'd like to also say that you might find my writings cliche or hackneyed knowledge, or even not profound enough, but seriously, think about them.

THINKING OVER WORRYING

So, this one is pretty simple and straight forward. When people ask me what do I mean by saying we should think instead of worry, aren't they both the same thing?". well I say NO. I first of all define the both term just to be clear, so *Thinking* for me is you critically analyzing a notion, finding out what is and what isn't, knowing why and why not, finding a solution whereas *Worrying* is just you been bothered about stuff, its you just asking the simple and rather impasse type of question, why? Thinking is a more productive activity. Its the one that gets you solutions (if there is any) to your supposed problems. Worrying is just you asking yourself, why me? Why now? Why her? Why then? Bla bla bla. Do more thinking, do less or no worrying.

MANAGING EMOTIONS OVER SUPPRESSING THEM.

I guess it was during the medieval times that people were celebrated for being ruthless and without emotions. If you haven't noticed dear reader, its the 21st century and of all the things that I am most excited and happy about in terms of advancement and development, its the human mind. It has gone beyond pondering over "what socks do I wear", "what do I tell my wife" type of questions to "why does the earth rotate", "what is the meaning of life" type of questions. Questions that transcends human existence. Emotions are part of human existence and we cannot do without them. So this is me putting on this geek type of smirk that the scholars like Einstein would put on when he wants to say something smart saying, "don't suppress your emotions, rather embrace them and channeling them approximately, you feel the emotion, you are NOT the emotion". Smart ain't it? I'd have my smirk all day long.

LISTENING INSTEAD OF SPEAKING

Okay, don't close the article just yet. Everyone knows about this one its common knowledge, or at least a good number of human beings do. I would just like to emphasize how important this is, how everyone in the world wants to speak and no one wants to listen. So I have this three (3) simple steps that you can try why having a conversation with anyone.

LISTEN - UNDERSTAND - SPEAK.

It might just be what you need to be that better friend, or that awesome mom your kids want or that super dad or that perfect student your teacher wants or whatever it is. I don't even know if that made sense, or any of what i've written but hey, thank you so much for reading. Till i come your way again, or not.
