Made for Each Other or Maid for You

Sameer is doing a job in a top post in one of the Government Organization and had posting mostly in different cities as these jobs were transferable. So long back he decided to settle his family at my place, his family just stays in the next door to me. His son is my son's best friend, they read in the same class, and I am kind of in his role in the time of need - taking care of any emergencies , hospitalization needs or school business. And till the lock down started, he was living a bachelor's life, enjoying his time as he has the honor of all the hospitality that a top grade corporate like government jobs has. His wife had some brain surgeries some times back, so he got all sorts of maids in his home - one to cook, one to do the house hold works, one to do anything else that would be needed 😀, and another 2-3 who can be called upon as needed. Of course, he did not want to get disturbed, so he was fine with whatever was being demanded. And when Corona started in my state, he was thinking, he is already living a quarantined kind like life, so nothing to worry.

But when the lock down started he got a call from his wife - she has severe health issues and needs him to be around. Little did he know that this will be end of his freedom

He drove the car in the night and reached home at around 2 pm. Being at a top position, he did not face any difficulty passing all the checks that was being made by police. And on arriving he saw his wife not that bad with some heavy migraine. And the reason - the apartment society have blocked all the people from outside coming into the apartment and she is finding it hard to manage. So she wanted to have him near them so that they can together manage the work. After all They were made for each other.

Sameer had no words - He could now understand what needs to be done. He tried to sleep in the night but then the plan of work was heating hard in his mind and he did not realize when he got a sleep to wake up next morning after being called by his wife - Honey, You need to go and clear the dustbin as a time is set up for that - Please get up, we have lot of work to do.

And since then his regular schedule now is full of house hold works - House cleaning, Utensils cleaning , Take the clothes and put in the roof top - help in cooking (else no foods) - guide the son for some studies ( its now the least important🤓) and then do the office work. Week ends are a little better as he has no office work. But rest all has to be done without which food is questionable.

Yesterday he was asking me where these quarantine centers are placed and I told him, in my place the government has actually signed an agreement with three good hotels where "pay and use” quarantine facilities are available. And upon searching more, it appears now more and more hotels are available. He then called his insurance companies to ask if they would cover these quarantine - but they said one has to have reports of Corona positive for it to be covered. That puts him in a dilemma :

Made for each other - or Maid for you - or just go and get infected so that ......😜

This situation is more or less same for all husbands including me - Corona is teaching us in the hard way 🤤
