Hello Hivers 👋
I'm just poking my head out of my Covid Man Cave to share a tutorial that may be useful for some to get back on track with their Hive blockchain activities, and to curate more effectively. I shall provide a brief update on my health at the end of this post, but for now, lets get down and dirty with the technical stuff.
Two Fantastic Tools for Autovoting and Checking Hive Activities
Areas blacked Out to Protect my Privacy
1: Hive World - SteemWorld but on Hive!
Massive thanks to @runicar for pointing me to this tool during a comment conversation on twitter.
After a little investigation I discovered that this clone of steemworld for the Hive blockchain was developed by @deathwing. I have just been looking at their profile and it seems they're an interesting addition to the ever expanding witnesses on Hive.
Thanks @deathwing!
This tool has been invaluable for me in testing out if I can automate most of my curation for the next 5-7 days as I fully recover from illness. I will be reviewing my witness votes and finding a space to vote for you as an extra thank you 😉
Any of my followers who've got to know me over the course of my nearly three years on steem know I don't take witness votes lightly. People who provide such useful tools like this are invaluable to the average hive user, check out @deathwing's profile and intro post and consider them for a witness vote.
This is a direct copy of steemworld called Hive World:
https://beeme.icu/?account=raj808
Simply replace raj808 in that link with your username, and hey presto, you have an accurate (steemworld-style) tool pointing to your Hive account.
The only function that I noticed didn't work is the incoming delegation section. I could see my outgoing delegations, but the incoming one for my Hive account is in a state of perpetual loading. However, I suspect that this is because it comes from someone who delegated to me prior to the hardfork.
I have been using Hive World all day to check the autovotes I have set are cast at the right time using the second tool in my double barrel arsenal of awesomeness.

2: Hive Rewarding App - Autovotes like Steem rewarding.app but on Hive!
At this time the hive version of steemauto (Hive Vote) isn't working effectively for autovotes. I double checked and I have granted the right account permissions etc, but over the last 7 days it has rarely voted the authors I had set... and when it has, those votes were cast hours after the post was published.
This is kind of a bummer, as the Hive Vote interface is undoubtedly easier for the novice to all things blockchain. But I've observed today that in the last 10 days struggling against this illness, I've lost out hugely on curation by not voting with idle stake. The people I autovote have been consistently creating great content, over the last 3 years I've been on steem. These people, along with the other mods and admins at The Ink well community deserve the autovotes. The autovotes either not being cast or cast late, is a lose lose situation as far as I'm concerned.
This is why I've been further experimented with @holger80's excellent tool, Hive Rewarding App.
https://rewarding.app/
For those who already had autovotes set up on the steem version of rewarding.app all you need do is follow the link above and Enable voting to true.
Disclaimer: I am using Hive Keychain in developer mode and am completely unsure my autovote method will work without Hive Keychain installed. To learn how to install the latest version of Hive Keychain follow the above link to @themarkymark post or full link here: https://peakd.com/technology/@themarkymark/installing-the-latest-version-of-hive-keychain-and-working-around-current-bug
This post by @holger80 explains further: https://peakd.com/hive-134382/@lelon/rewarding-app-autovoter-for-hive-hive-134382?
For those looking to set up autovotes via Hive Rewarding App for the first time. Things might get a little tricky as there are many parameters which can be tweaked to only vote certain tags for authors etc. It is a far superior tool to Hive Vote, but takes a little more technical understanding to get right.
A Basic Tutorial
I can provide the most basic step by step to set up an voting rule for 4 minutes, without any particular tags, that will vote an author once per day automatically.
1: Sign in to https://rewarding.app/
2: Hit continue.
3: Add your username and private posting key (this is the same for both Hive and steem accounts).
4: Hit Log in
button.
5: This should get you to the home page where you will have to follow the process to give @rewarding the posting authority, this will involve using your private active key (this is the same for both Hive and steem accounts). Look at the highlighted section in the screen below and the link just underneath it.
6: Autovoting Rules - Once you've granted posting authority click the section that says Add new Rule
. A new screen will pop up with all kinds of parameters (as seen below).
7: This tutorial covers how to set a 100% autovote to a trusted author (I'm using @agmoore2 in this example) with no specified word count, or other strict parameters. It basically sets the rule to vote only posts (not comments), 1/day max in this example at 100% voting weight at the 4 minute mark. To proceed with these parameters change all the settings in your new rule
section to the same as mine below apart from the author name which will be your chosen author (no need to use the @ symbol).
8: Finally, don't forget to click submit!
9: Once you have done this you can click show rules
and you will see the that the rule is within this area.
10: To reproduce this autovote, all you need to do is click the blue highlighted copy
function, second along from the left.
10: Add in a new username (in this case I added my friend of two years from steem @buttcoins). If you do want to change the voting weight %, you can see in this screen 👆 it is the parameter below the author's name which makes it easy to move through all your favorite authors with different vote percentages if that is your choice. Once you have changed author name scroll down to the bottom and click submit.
11: When you navigate to the show rules section
you will see that all of the same parameters have been reproduced in a new rule... keep using the copy function to populate as many autovotes as you want and boom, you're rocking Hive like a pro.
12: Use @deathwing's Spaghetti World to monitor your autovotes if you'd like, but so far three people I autovote have been voted at exactly the right time using this process.
13: Feel free to experiment with changing the first two parameters in the rules section as you set up your autovotes. Vote weight
is obviously the percentage that you vote with, and vote delay
is the minute mark that your autovote is cast. Currently 4 minutes is meant to be optimal for curation rewards, but lots of people much better at this curation game than I am are front running this 4 minute mark to increase returns. At the moment, I'm more concerned with having autovotes that work reasonably accurately as I'm away from Hive, and the community I set up while I fully recover.
I hope that this tutorial was helpful. I tried to keep it as simple as possible as those with limited knowledge might find that more useful.
A stupid meme I made a few months ago... boy do I regret poking that snake of fate with my tickle stick 😉
A Quick Update on My Coronavirus Experience
I think I'm over the worst of it now. Every symptom (apart from loss of taste and smell) has been ticked off and passed by one after the other.
High fever ✅
Constant dry coughing ✅
Aches and pains ✅
All gone now.
Nausea (although listed as rare, this was very bad for me due to an underlying chronic condition), exhaustion (still ongoing to be honest).
I am still a little breathless, but this has been steadily improving the last 2-3 days.
It has left me exhausted at this point, drained is the exact adjective I would use. But this morning I felt almost normal. My friend who is a doctor gently reminded me to give myself a week to fully recover even once all symptoms disappear.
We were talking on WhatsApp and I said I felt like going out on my typical 7-8 mile bike ride.
Her response - "don't be fckn mad... when you start to feel normal go for walks at the most, but you still need to give yourself time to recover as the fatigue won't go quickly"
Such is life, I'm just happy to be out of the worst of it. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm looking forward to sitting in my communal back garden in the sun and possibly chatting with the neighbors.
This post is exclusive to hive blockchain.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: Since yesterday @deathwing has changed the name and domain for what was formally Spaghetti World to Hive World. I have updated this post accordingly to referance the new name and point to the right domain etc.

Anyone interested in creative writing on Hive blockchain, or any type of poetry or fiction, please do check out the new community I created with @stormlight24 called The Ink Well.
This is a great Post by all means. I didn't know of @deathwing's version of Steem world and I'll just about check it this evening. Truth is, I set vote through hive.vote and I've never done so through keychain or so. However it's brilliant to see Hive as a blockchain is finally taking shape and the dapps are settling really. In earnest I'll like to see you recover Fully and thanks for the post I'm just so disappointed tipu didn't come through.
Hi m8
Yeah, it is nifty bit of kit and I've been able to verify that 6 out of the 15 authors I autovote are being voted at the right time of 4 minutes. You can check out how your autovotes are behaving yourself, and perhaps hive.vote is working fine for you. It might be! It could be a problem that isn't on all accounts etc. For me though, hive.vote really hasn't been working as I needed, so I had to spend a little time figuring out a different strategy as I have to limit my online activity for another 5-6 days at least. Rest, meditation and simpler activities are the doctors orders lol
It might still work using steem signer using holger's app. Like I mean it might not need keychain to set up, I just put in a disclaimer because I don't know lol
Don't worry too much. Such is life... maybe they should read my how-to and get on the curation train 😂
I'm joking of course. Big curation projects like that usually have their own bots to do the auto or trigger voting. Something is screwy with tipu's at the moment.
Thanks for stopping by and reading Jose. I hope that Spaghetti World proves useful 💪
Well I believe hive isn't perfect at the moment and it's quite scrappy too. But this is a huge definitive post by all means that can actually help a beginner to determine what tool to use and that will definitely be beneficial to any user as well. I nearly didn't know about these tool and I'm an oldie myself.
Well I guess the system might just become better with time and quality stuff like this will not be less rewarded anymore.
Cheers Rowan I'll definitely look into those tools
Hi @josediccus
I just thought I'd let you know that I edited this post as deathwing changed the domain and name for the steem world style site to Hive World.
https://beeme.icu/?account=josediccus
That link above goes right to your profile in Hive World. I have checked through the site and also that it is safe to use, although I wouldn't try any account operations with it like moving rewards around etc.
I'll read the tutorial later on my iPad before going to sleep. Seems very useful. What I really wanted was to get an update on your health. I love your doctor friend :)
Take it easy. As the saying goes, it ain't over till it's over. Life is precious. Protect yours.
Yeah, she's a peach... who will tell me when I'm being stupid lol I'm not taking anything for granted. To be honest, stormlight24 is running things at the ink well for the rest of the week so I can properly recover. Plus Carol and Jayna have been absolutely amazing commenting on many peoples posts.
Don't worry about coming back to the tutorial, unless you're looking to set up autovotes. If you ever used steem world in the past then you might find these links useful:

https://deathwing.me/hw/?account=agmoore2
Just like steemworld, shows all sorts of stats and info about votes going in and out, but for Hive blockchain.
Thanks for reading 🙂
Hi @agmoore

Thank you, Raj. You are wonderful. Hope good health (such as it was before the virus) returns soon.
#posh proof of work out there in the twitter-verse 😉
@tipu curate.
I'm still reading it.
Fuck it's not working
So sorry about you Covid experience my friend and thank God that you have a doctor friend.
I bookmarked this great post and thank you for the effort.
It certainly belongs in Trending for the masses tp read.
Hope that your situation improves.
Blessings!
Thanks @papilloncharity I appreciate the concern. I think I've got through it 🤞 I was lucky to have mild/moderate symptoms but most lucky that the final breathing symptoms are mild :)

Thanks for reading and I'm glad the tutorial has been of some use to people.
Oh! I was going to tell you that site address you had was wrong, as I went into #beeme this morning.
So, no need to worry and you just get better my friend.
Blessings!
This is great info, @raj808! I hope auto-curation begins working reliably soon. I have always relied on it!
Hoping you are mending!! Remote hugs!!
Like the proverbial iron man I am putting myself back together... and even got a fiction prompt out on the ink well today :)
Hello @raj808, sorry you've been so unwell and hope you're soon feeling much, much better. Been a quieter place round here!
Thank you Shani
I have been lurking and coughing and generally acting like a snuffling troll of the friendly, yet sleepy variety.
Was touch and go for a bit but I'm pretty much over the worst of it :)
Thank you for this! I have been missing steemworld to see how my curation has been doing on Hive. Although I didn't see the lag in voting for my auto votes on Hivevote that you did, I do plan on checking out the Hive rewarding tool also. Thanks again. 😀
Really great info here Rowan, sorry I didn't see it earlier - been so wrapped up in preparation for the live show on Saturday, was kinda focusing on that! Glad to see Hive World there and Hive rewarding back in action - I'll need to reactivate the curation for that but as I'm pretty much leasing all my HP to curie, my upvotes mean very little other than a bit of "emotional support" haha!
Will repost this so others can see it too that follow me, all for useful tools being shared around!
All aboard!

this link not working. But why
@raj808
Still learning Hive. This is a great newbie tool!
