I was very surprised to hear the news in my local media, two days ago we celebrated World Elephant Day. Aceh, which is one of the habitats for Sumatran elephants, also celebrates. However, one day later we got the news if one of the tame Sumatran elephants in the captivity of the Sampoinet CRU, Aceh Jaya died and the consequences were unknown.
I just came back from CRU Sampoinet 1 month ago on my agenda to visit to take some pictures, I took several pictures of Olo [one of the male elephants] who was declared dead the day after the celebration of World Elephant Day two days ago. Goodbye Olo, you have protected our forests, our gardens, and our settlements from the rampage of wild elephants in Sampoinet, Aceh Jaya.
