Frank The Freeloader - An Introduction

I would like to introduce a series post I will be making. It’s going to be called ‘Frank the Freeloader’. The series is based on real life events and real people but with names changed or left out entirely of course. Everyone we talk to in our lives about this stuff is baffled by the scenario. So many have told us that we have to write a blog about it. This is going to be part of a few different series of posts about the crazy things that have happened in our lives.

Frank the Freeloader is the name a friend of mine came up with for this guy that is unfortunately engaged to a female family member of mine.

Some background of Frank is that he’s a real swell kind of guy. He’s very cheap, very selfish and thinks he’s a superior example of humanity. Not to show too much distaste for him, let’s get into some examples of things that are his awesome behaviors.

Having dated her for going on 7 years, one would think that there would have been numerous opportunities for generosity. He has not once that I am aware of brought anything over to share with the members of the household except his appetite and hand outstretched. He is quite famous for coming over with a small pizza just for himself, and doesn’t even share a piece with his girlfriend, now fiancée. Eating the pizza, it’s also below him to bring a beverage to drink so off to the fridge to get some sustenance! Not once in 7 years has he either shared a piece with his fiancée’s parents.

At this point I can’t remember if he started out this way or progressed to it. He’s been a cocky and arrogant guy since I met him that many years ago.

His style is to make fun of someone right to their face but then laugh hysterically and make it seem like a joke. Joke is on the recipient though, unfortunately. He is even as bold as to make fun of his fiancée’s father, right to his face. Hiding it in a joke of course, that only lasted a couple times before the game was up. It’s not an occasional occurrence but certainly as frustrating.
