Choose your friends well (bad company corrupt good character)
Many people wouldn't believe this. But for someone like me, who grew up in a strict family, my mother had been reminding me to choose my friends as wisely as I could. This has been a long tradition in the family. Since high school I was "forbidden" to go out with classmates who she thinks aren't good for my character development.
At first, I couldn't understand why my mother did it. But right now, I'm more than grateful for what she did. Today, I still stand firm that I should only be surrounded by the people who can love me. And by love, I meant those who can contribute to my development in all ways possible. I am never afraid to cut off ties when ties aren't serving me peace, love, compassion, empathy, and authenticity.
This was a great read. :)
