I've been crippled by anxiety attacks several times, and no matter what people say, knowing that all these attacks are irrational and just makes the problem worse in our minds.
I know that paralyzing feeling, the numbness, the mental prison you're stuck in that you want to break out of, and the loop of those thoughts.
And if you are looking for an answer to get rid of it, then you are not in so much trouble because otherwise you would be in a mental hospital by now.
Understanding anxiety attacks helps a person deal with it in the long run, and I am going to tell you just that.
You may have learned about the "adrenaline hormone" in school; The hormone that makes one superhuman according to beliefs and what we have heard is the "fight or flight" hormone.
That's exactly what happens.
Excessive tension or thinking leads the mind to believe that it is in danger (this is normal, the brain is equipped for it), therefore, when the mind thinks it is in danger, it guesses what? Adrenaline, yes, for 'fight or flight', and even though we don't need it and pose no threat to us, it is released.
Now, when it's released, because we don't need it and we're not really doing anything physical or in any danger, the body reacts to this adrenaline and that's the start of all that weird feeling.
Plus, when we don't understand it, we feel intimidated and release even more adrenaline. Relax, you know.
Another factor you should keep in mind is why triggers happen. In the lower part of the brain there is a part called amygdala. It is the part responsible for detecting fear, and is associated with the front part of the brain that stores memories. (prefrontal cortex)
Therefore, when faced with places where you have previously experienced anxiety attacks, or even the same thoughts, or anything related to the attacks, the amygdala detects the fear caused by those memories. those exposed to it (front brain, remember? memory hub)
So, again, the same thing happens, adrenaline is released.
So understand. That all these things are just our brain thinking we are in danger, and it recurs as it remembers what a threat it was.
So, understand it.
Also understand, because of these attacks, you may not absorb what you think, or think clearly for that matter. So, you insist that there is a problem to be solved and so you reconsider, think more, but by no means absorb anything.
So know all that I said. It's just a mind trick into thinking it's in danger. So calm, nothing to think much about. And know the willingness to think, thinking that something has to be solved, puts us in the loop, because as I said and I am stressing this fact, you will not absorb anything.
So take a cold pill. It's just a matter of mind.
Hope I could make you feel a little better.
