Good day Guys!!!!
This is my first post here on this community as a newbie on hive platform of which is not supposed to be so, because I had intentions on posting my introductory post here as directed by my refferal and instructor.
I thought i already joined the community before posting unknown to me that i didn't join.

I was so stressed out yesterday and kind of too lazy to post, you know as a student who just finished his final exams recently and trying to finish up with project work before deadline of submission, those that pass through higher institution in Nigeria can relate 🙇🙇.

Trying to balance two things at a time isn't easy, i go to work place and at the same time go to school and this started 3 months ago after ASUU (Academic staff union of university) called off their long 8months strike , I was kind of confused on what to do at that particular moment whether to quit the Job and focus on my studies or to balance the two.

A picture of myself at the work place

I finally came to the conclusion to work and attend classes at the same time because the job was a shifting work and we all my department help each other when anyone of us want to do something else outside the work.

The second reason i considered to still be on the job was because i only have a month to round up in the university.

The third reason was because my school is in the same state i reside with my aunty but the cost of transporting to and fro is extraordinarily high but I said to myself I will bear it for the one month.

So yesterday i went to school to collect my project work and I was so stressed up as i was on night shift, finishing up with school issues by 5pm before i could get to work it was already half past six o' clock of which i was already late, was supposed to resume by exactly 6pm , i had to plead with everyone and they all understood.

After about 30 minutes I was very hungry so i went outside to buy soft drink (coke) and minimie chinchin. After getting all I wanted i went back to work to put them in my belly, i opened the plastic drink and put little inside my mouth it was not tasting like the normal coke, well i felt may be because i was stressed up, I took another round it was tasting the same thing 😭😭😭 I then decided to check on the expiring date and I saw the drink had expired 3months ago 🙆🙆 which was October and i have taken almost half of the drink. I quickly ran to the woman and showed her the current status of the drink and she was also surprised.

When it got to the time I told her to return my money it became an issue for her, she said she also got it like that without her notice , she was saying it without any form of pleading in her voice. I argued with her for about 30 minutes but she refused, i was like ok oo give me a smaller one the soft drink she still refused. She only told me to pay little amount so she could give me the smaller one of which I declined. An elderly man with his son who were there also told her to do something but she turned deaf ears at them. I just left the drink there with her for her to drink.

To my greatest surprise the elderly man came to my work place this early morning and started to tell me all manner of things about the woman that she sells expired drinks and thats was how she sold expired bear to his friend without refunding a dime and that i should not go there to buy anything again.

I think i need to stop here right now cos if i continue i will be late for work, yes work, It's an extra duty for me of which i will be paid for.

You can share your thoughts on if expired drinks really have any effect or it's just our mindset.

Bye for now 🙌🙌

Hi @long001 and welcome to Hive. As you're new, let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Daily Blog community.

OCD community is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse. Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
