What's a blondie without a brownie?

The baking-fever isn't over yet, nor is my appetite for snacks. The oven is working extra hours and so is my belly. And guess what, I don't mind that all!

The adult life vs baking

I used to bake every weekend when I was younger, but the adult life took a hold of me. I didn't had the time, didn't feel like it, didn't had the ingredients at home, etc. Those were a few of the excuses that I told myself to not go into the kitchen and grab my mixer. I did bake pies whenever it was the birthday of family member though, but the truth is that I lost a little bit of my love for baking. I don't know exactly why, maybe because I lost a little bit of love for life in general.

Since a few months, I started to bake a bit more again. It sure have helped that @rubencress and his roommate enjoy my baking skills. But now that I'm at home all the time, due to Covid-19, I feel like I'm not as restless as usual and that I really have the time to prepare some goodies. This way I can enjoy it way more.

Brownies... are like my family

To be honest, I'm not a huge chocolate fan. I don't háve to eat it every week or whenever it's that time of the month again. But what I do appreciate is a rich, gooey chocolate pie/brownie every now and then.

Do you know that feeling that you can't open your mouth when eating chocolate pie, because it feels like the chocolate is all over your teeth? Right, whenever a pie/cake/brownie feels like that, I know the baker has done an awesome job!

A few days ago I came across a photograph of a brownie and I immediately wanted to bake one myself. It had been ages since I baked a brownie, so I drove to the supermarket the next day to buy everything that I needed. If you've ever prepared one, you know it isn't hard at all. So before I knew it, the brownie was done and ready to be eaten. The inside turned out a little too gooey for my taste, but the crunchy crust made up for that. I do like that you can see that is handmade though.

I was allowed to borrow @rubencress his camera and take the photos myself this time. Those were the only three photographs that turned out oke'ish and we had to laugh a little about the other ones. But practice makes perfect, right?;)
