Hi Hivers!
The expanse of grassland or savanna stretches out over the mountains. The savanna is only overgrown with grass about 30 centimeters high. It looks green, in some places yellowed. The slopes of the mountains were steep and wide without trees.
The area is called Mount Taleuk. It is located in the forest of Tiro District, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. In recent months, the mountainous area has begun to attract tourists because of the view of the expanse of savanna in the curve of the Bukit Barisan Mountains.
The early history of the name Mount Taleuk is also very unique. Taleuk comes from the Acehnese language, which means 'divorce'. Behind the unique name of this mountain, Efendi Tiro, a local resident, has an interesting story.
The Tiro forest area, which became the premise of a guerrilla war when Aceh was still in conflict, became the origin of Mount Taleuk. It is said that one day, a husband and wife were traveling from the village to the mountains to fight.
While in the expanse of the savanna, the wife was no longer able to walk. She even asked her husband to return to the village.
When was the Mount Taleuk savanna tourism widely known?
Since the first, the savanna has come from the village of Bed Badeuk, Tiro, because it is high. I was very curious and wanted to see it up close.
Thank You Very Much
@kumandang
Here in Nigeria, we don't really do Hike but I would love to try it out when I go to a mountaineous country. Especially to take pictures from high elevations which I love the most.
By the way, @kumandang don't you think it is unsafe to hike alone?
Thank You Mr, I Hike With My Friends, He Took My Picture
