A lot of HOW TO has already been made in both writing and videos and I collated some of those tutorials that have already been made in the Hive Ecosystem. This post is specifically made for TeamPH new members on how to start their Hive Journey or for the newbies that wanted to start their Hive journey or those people who wanted to learn more about Hive.
What is Hive?
Hive is a decentralized blockchain-based social media platform(like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, ETC), however, it doesn't censor any of its content like other social media are doing, and since it is a DECENTRALIZED platform which means it is not controlled by any person or group of people and everyone who participates in it has a say on how things are done.
Hive users can create, curate(upvote/Like), and Comment on any posts in the hive blockchain to earn rewards in the form of Cryptocurrency. Hive's main Crypto Currency/Token is called HIVE, which can be used for various transactions on the platform and they have a token called HBD, the dollar equivalent token called a stablecoin.

There are a lot of ways how to create your own account on Hive and the main way to do it going to the website https://signup.hive.io/.
But in my opinion, these two are the best and easiest ways to create your account for free.

- 2.) PEAKD/HIVEONBOARDING - Link (My Personal Favorite)
A.) Choose your preferred username and check the Terms and Services.
B.) THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, make sure to SAVE your keys, and write them down on a piece of paper.
C.) Enter your Phone number and enter the OTP or code to finalize your account.
2.) SETTING UP YOUR HIVE KEYCHAIN
What is Hive Keychain?
Hive Keychain is like a secret backpack you can wear whenever you want to access your Hive account. This backpack holds a special key that unlocks the door to your account and keeps it safe from bad guys who might want to steal your stuff.
Hive keychain is a PC Browser Extension and an Android Application.
- For PC users who use Brave Browser/Chrome you will be able to download it here. Firefox (Link).
- For the Android Application you can open your Google Play/ Play Store and search for Hive Keychain.
After Downloading, you need to Set up your Hive-Keychain account and first, you need to create your own password for the keychain.
Then you need to import your keys and the best way to do it is via Use keys/pwd.
Make sure to choose the USE keys/pwd option and it will ask for your username and Private Key.
