Since I joined the Hive, I've looked out for photography contests that I could participate in; since I'm a photographer. It didn't take long for me to discover the monomad challenge, and I've been an active participant since then. I've gone on to win second place in the daily contest once and made the list of honourable mentions two times. It's been an exciting experience for me. And I've been impressed by the quality of entries so far. They are so good that I wonder how I came second in the competition.
The monomad challenge is limited to only monochrome[entries]. And while I could simply convert a colored photograph to black and white, I also want to share colored photographs[in contests]. So today, I sought to find out if they were any photography contests for colored portraits, and I found one. And although it's a weekly contest, I'm glad I can still participate[especially since I can share colored photographs]. Thanks to @portraitcontest [I wish to know the real person behind the contest though].
For my entry into the contest, I'll be sharing favorites from the last set of portraits I shot during my last days in Uyo, Nigeria. I was posted there for my National Youth Service Corps[NYSC].
Here are the photos;
During my national youth service in Uyo, I met and connected with a lot of photographers. Oh! And models too. One of the photographers I connected the most with was @anya. An amazing human and photographer. We did a lot of collaborations together and it was always fun.
The end of my service year meant that I'll be leaving the town soon, so I reached out to him and my favourite model and asked that we did one last collaboration. Well not the last last per se, but the last for that time, because we had a recent collaboration. And there'll be more in the future.
So I reached out to him and the model and they obliged. We fixed a location and date for execution, and we did the shoot.
The photos from the session were amazing. The weather was so in our favour. The grasses were green, and the sky was naturally blue. A lot of people still think that I manipulated the blue sky, but I assure you that it was 100percent real. Although I enhanced it a little during post-processing.
EXIF DATA;
I'll love to know what you think of these portraits. Possible areas that I could have done better. Please leave a comment in the comments section.

Amazing entry and set of photos, model, colors and angles are dope. Did you use any kind of fill light or reflector? O was it straight in the middle of the sunny day shoot?
No reflector. I went with a speed light though. But it wasn't effective[No HSS]. So I opted to shoot natural light. The scene was just properly lit.
Light looks really good and i believe speed light would not have helped anyway, too little power to overpower the bright sun.
